Andy Burnham has mocked Danny Dyer after the former Eastenders actor blasted him in an x-rated tirade. The Rivals star said he “didn’t know” who the current Prime Minister is during a recent protest about sewage.
When the BBC managed to get a few minutes with Dyer, he was asked if he had a message about the campaign for the prime minister. In footage shared on X by Keohan, he responded: “I don’t know who the prime minister is, mate. Do you?”
When told Andy Burnham is in charge, the 49-year-old replied: “Yeah… but who is he? I don’t understand. Did anyone vote for him? Because I didn’t vote for him. I think we’ve had successive prime ministers that are c***s. End of.”
“Put that on the f***ing BBC,” he said, before walking away.
Keohan, who has now deleted his X post, wrote alongside the video: “I don’t think we’ll use this clip of Danny Dyer on the news tonight.”
She is also married to West Ham United legend Jared Bowen.
Joking to reporters en-route to New York, where he is attending the United Nations General Assembly, Mr Burnham said he thought he was going to be asked about Dyer.
He added: “I’m not sure I know who he is. Is he the father-in-law of a West Ham player?”
Dyer is no stranger to a political rant – his 2018 Brexit tirade, in which he branded David Cameron a “t**t”, was named TV moment of the year.
