The BBC will broadcast sporadic coverage of events throughout the Winter Olympics 2026 across its radio platforms.

Coverage will be on BBC Radio 5 Live.

BBC Radio 5 Live is available on DAB radio, MW 693 kHz, 909 kHz and 990 kHz, or you can tune into the station via most TV packages.

The Games formally begin with the opening ceremony on Friday 6th February and run until Sunday 22nd February.

Listen to Winter Olympics 2026 online

Online radio coverage – including BBC Radio 5 Live – will be available on the BBC Sounds app or via the BBC Sport website.

This is the easiest way to tune in to listen, with coverage available on a host of devices – from laptops and computers to portable devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Winter Olympics 2026 radio schedule

There is a catch. There are few blocks of live coverage dedicated solely to the Winter Olympics, with coverage set to focus on Team GB medal prospects.

You can expect reactive coverage from across the Games, with major moments to be covered as and when they arrive.

Therefore, we cannot confirm a radio schedule for the Games as such because, frankly, there isn’t one.

However, we are informed that events such as curling could feature prominently as the tournament progresses should Team GB advance through to the latter stages, while short runs from the bobsleigh, skeleton and figure skating will be broadcast throughout the days when Brits are in action.

I studied medicine at Trinity College, Oxford, and qualified as a doctor. There are already many excellent blogs exploring faith, humanism, atheism, politics, rationalism, philosophical doubt and everything in between. But I don't intend to limit myself to any particular subject. This is simply a space where I'll share whatever comes to mind, whether it's something I've been thinking about for years or just a passing thought from the day.
