Coachella is known, perhaps to a fault, as the progenitor of the hyper-trendy, eye-catchingly contrived, celebrity-endorsed concept known as “festival style.” (Think Vanessa Hudgens barefoot and flower-crowned in high-rise denim cut-offs, or Harry Styles in a Gucci sequined jumpsuit.) While festival style continues to evolve and endure in strange new ways, this year’s iteration of the Indio, California fest—the 25th Coachella ever—offered plenty of meme-able fodder for the internet, but it also made genuine waves for its many buzzy debuts, seemingly chill vibes, and low-key style wins.
Justin Bieber, for example, made his mellow Coachella headlining debut while wearing a zip-up hoodie. The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, who warmed up the main stage ahead of Saturday’s “Bieberchella” set, got cheeky in a faux-Amazon tee. And the British rapper Fakemink, true to his Hedi-boy vibe, wore sparkly vintage Dior. Read on for more about these looks, and other great menswear moments, from weekend one of Coachella 2026.
Sombr’s Valentino studded leather suit
No one is championing the lace bodice in menswear as consistently as Sombr, New York City’s alt-pop boy du jour. Coachella was no exception. For his Coachella debut, the 20-year-old musician donned a sleek, studded leather suit and a long-sleeve lace bodice from Valentino, for which Sombr is a brand ambassador. The tightly cropped jacket featured the number “77” bedazzled on its back—a nod to the “77” jersey he wears on the cover of his debut album, I Barely Know Her.
