Super Bowl 2026 Ads: The 6 “Best” Celebrity Spots In a Rough Year

You know it’s a bad year for advertising when your sister texts “So far, the prostate screening one is the best,” and it’s after halftime. Some of us can trace our very fondest and earliest Super Bowl memories to 1993: not to the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills, but to Larry Bird and Michael Jordan and Big Macs, Crystal Pepsi’s Van Halen splash (which kicked off in the lead-up to the game but not the broadcast), and the Bud Bowl. Those were the days.

Three decades later, we still have big beer—and big tech, and big pharma. AdWeek has declared this year’s Bud Light Peyton Manning spot “too bro,” asking of Post Malone, who also stars in it, “are you okay?” The drug gods shelled out for recognizable faces: Novartis had former NFL heavies; Ro (a telehealth company that sells GLP-1s) had Serena Wiliams; Boehringer Ingelheim booked Octavia Spencer and Sofia Vergara; and Novo Nordisk hired a murderer’s row of comedians, including Ana Gasteyer and Kenan Thompson. Big tech did less with more: I can barely recall Anthropic’s ad that I saw 90 minutes ago, while Open AI mustered the bold tagline “You Can Just Build Things” after an ad that most memorably displayed that picture of Albert Einstein blowing a raspberry. Was AI in charge here?

The best celeb spot of all was of course Bad Bunny, on behalf of humanity, and creativity. (Which is why we have long enjoyed Super Bowl ads, right?) But if a brand’s vision and tagline are otherwise failing, famous faces will do. Here are the 6 most memorable ads featuring familiar people:

• The Netflix teaser for Quentin Tarantino’s sequel to Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood (because what is a trailer if not an ad, and what better way to use an ad spot than run a trailer?)

• The YouTube “meh” ad starring Jason and Kylie Kelce (the spot was a little “meh,” but who doesn’t love the elder Kelce and his wife?)
