But blue, of course, wasn’t the only color of the game. While Hart wore the aqua Brunson Kobe 6s for the first half of the game (a nice gesture of solidarity with a guy he’s shared countless monumental basketball moments with since their days at Villanova) he swapped them out for an orange pair of Kobe 6s after halftime: specifically, the Nike Kobe 6 “Total Orange,” an all-orange colorway that dropped last year to commemorate WNBA All-Star Weekend. Next to the teal PE, the combo made for some fortuitous sneaker synergy: a show of blue and orange on the court as Hart helped the Knicks end a cursed half-century of ups and downs.
Elsewhere on the conspicuously-bright-sneaker front, several other Knicks players showed out for the big night. Jordan Clarkson rolled up in the legendary Kobe 6 “Grinch” colorway, while Mikal Bridges laced up a pair of the “NY vs NY” Nike Ja 3s. And OG Anunoby, the ascendant face of Skechers, played in not one, not two, but three different colorways of the Skechers SKX Nexus silhouette: one black, one yellow, and, of course, the “NY Blue” PE, in which he already made the most historic shot in Knicks’ history during Game 4.
For those looking to pick up a pair of the Nike Kobe 6 “Statue of Liberty” kicks, you may want to start saving up some cash–the resale market took note of their historic Game 5 and right now they’re priced between $700 and $2,000 on StockX depending on size. For the rest of us, well, the memories are free.
