The hits keep coming for the Philadelphia Museum of Art: On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the museum is suffering a growing deficit, according to preliminary documentation reviewed by the paper.
For the fiscal year 2025-2026, which ended on June 30, the museum had a deficit of $10 million on a $76.5 million budget. That deficit is nearly double the $5.4 million it experienced in the previous fiscal year. And, according to the Inquirer, museum leaders expect the deficit to either remain flat or grow to as much as $15.9 million this year.
