Pam Bondi’s brother keeps on winning. But why?

With the Department of Justice embroiled in criticism over its handling of files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Attorney General Pam Bondi is facing renewed questions over her brother, Brad Bondi, and his unusual winning streak in cases involving the DOJ. In recent months, the department has faced questions about whether it has “properly implemented firewalls and screening procedures to separate Attorney General Bondi from her brother,” per a letter sent by members of Congress in December. In the letter, lawmakers detail recent cases in which Brad Bondi has been able to achieve favorable outcomes for his clients, even those facing long odds, in their case. For example, Bondi served as the lead attorney for billionaire Trevor Milton, who was convicted of defrauding investors in 2022, in a scheme in which Milton made misleading statements targeting “retail investors.” For this, Milton was sentenced to four years in prison — however, President Donald Trump pardoned Milton in March 2025. So far the department has managed to dodge these and other questions about the attorney …

Emmy Winning ‘Schitt’s Creek’ Star Was 71

Emmy Winning ‘Schitt’s Creek’ Star Was 71

Catherine O’Hara, a gifted comedic actress and two-time Emmy winner, has died. O’Hara died Friday at her home in Los Angeles after a brief illness, her reps at CAA confirmed. She was 71. A native of Toronto, O’Hara was part of the SCTV ensemble that also helped launch the careers of John Candy, Eugene Levy, Rick Moranis and others. She’s arguably best known for playing Kevin’s (Macaulay Culkin) mother, Kate, in the Home Alone movies and had a career renaissance in the past 10 years with Schitt’s Creek — winning an Emmy for her role as a faded soap opera actress opposite old friend Levy — and The Studio, for which she earned an Emmy nomination last year. She won an Emmy in 2020 for playing Moira Rose in Schitt’s Creek. She also earned an Emmy for her work on SCTV Network in 1982 and was nominated eight other times for acting and writing awards. O’Hara was a double nominee in 2025, scoring anod best guest actress in a drama series for HBO’s The Last of …

‘It’s not always about winning’

‘It’s not always about winning’

Add the Winter Olympics 2026 to your watchlist. To see our day-by-day guide of what to watch, click here. High in the Italian Alps, a 39-year-old Englishman is preparing to race. Soon he will lock into his skis, take a deep breath of sharp mountain air and then throw himself down the compacted frozen snow of the Winter Olympics slalom course beneath Monte Vallecetta. When he hurtles towards the finish-line, Dave Ryding will zigzag and turn through a series of gates marked by polymer poles, subjecting his knees and ankles to immense forces, while reaching speeds of 80km an hour. With some understatement Ryding, known as The Rocket, describes this as “quite stressful”. Downhill racing is faster, but slalom is the more technical event where competitors are more likely to make a mistake and crash – with hundreds of cowbell-clanging spectators waiting for him to do just that. “It’s an amazing experience in front of a big crowd,” he says. And frightening? “You learn to perform under pressure, to take the energy from the crowd …
