My Husband Hates My Tattoo. The Reason Why Made Me Question How He Sees Our Relationship

My Husband Hates My Tattoo. The Reason Why Made Me Question How He Sees Our Relationship

According to a survey by YouGov, a quarter of Brits are inked, and one in nine people have visible tattoos but for some people, they’re still a big turn-off, and this was certainly the case for one Redditor’s husband. Posting on the /r/relationship_advice subreddit, a 35 year old woman said: “I recently started a traditional [tattoo] sleeve. “It’s going to be pieced together and I found a really good (male) artist nearby. I don’t know many women in my area who do trad style, I really like his work, and he had availability and great prices so I just went for it.” If you’re unfamiliar, a ‘sleeve tattoo’ is kind of exactly what it sounds like. It’s a large tattoo or collection of smaller tattoos that covers most or all of a person’s arm. The Redditor explained that when she had her first appointment, her husband was ‘fine’ but now, not so much. “He’s upset because I let another man mark me forever before he got to mark me” The Reddit postersaid: “The artist had …

British Airways owner International Airlines Group sees profits soar | Business News

The owner of British Airways has reported a sharp rise in profits amid soaring demand for trips and a fall in the cost of fuel. International Airlines Group (IAG) said its operating profit for the first three months of the year was €68m (£58.5m) – above expectations and up from €9m (£7.7m) during the same period in 2023. The company, which also owns Aer Lingus, Iberia and Vueling, said earnings had soared thanks to strong demand, particularly over the Easter holidays. It said fuel costs had also dropped almost 5% – compared to the same period last year – due to lower prices and “more efficient” aircraft deliveries. IAG said British Airways (BA) and its other airlines had reported a noticeable uptick in ticket sales for flights between major European cities, especially for leisure trips. Chief executive Luis Gallego said the group’s airlines had already secured more than 80% of projected bookings for the second quarter and over 40% for the third quarter. Pandemic pivot sees sparkling sales for Hampshire’s Brush Baby

Pandemic pivot sees sparkling sales for Hampshire’s Brush Baby

Dominique Tillen’s move online during lockdown saw sales at child toothbrush retailer Brush Baby shine The pandemic was make-or break for many South East firms with markets and distribution channels closing overnight once the country entered the first pandemic lockdown. When the dust settled, however, many made successful and lasting changes in the way that they sold their products and Dominique Tillen of Hampshire-based Brush Baby was no different. The company’s growth had followed a steady growth trajectory, hitting the £1m turnover milestone in 2017, however it was a key pivot made during Covid that accelerated Brush Baby’s progress. The firm now has a turnover of £4m a year and employs 15 people in the market town of Alresford. Dominique said: “Between 2020 and 2021, we grew by 43 per cent and that was during Covid when we switched the business to online. “We heavily focused on Amazon as our retailers had all shut down which was pivotal for us. “We had to pivot very quickly and we brought in an Amazon expert who has …

The 3 rarely seen but adored royal kids King Charles sees far more of than Archie and Lili | Royal | News

King Charles III is said to enjoy spending time with Zara and Mike Tindall’s three children – Mia, 10, Lena, five, and Lucas, three. The monarch, a proud grandfather to five, is known to spend a lot of time with his three eldest grandchildren, Prince William’s trio – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six. Although he spends time with George, Charlotte, and Louis, the King has spent very little time with Prince Harry’s two children – Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, two. Archie, who celebrated his fifth birthday earlier this week, and Lilibet now live in the US – more than 5,000 miles from their royal relatives in the UK. Due to the distance, Mia, Lena, and Lucas appear to spend more time with the King than Harry’s children. Here, Express.co.uk looks at the three rarely-seen, but adored, royal children that spend more time with the monarch than Archie and Lilibet. Mia Grace Tindall – the eldest child of Zara and Mike Tindall – was born in January 2014 at …

Maya Rudolph’s ‘SNL’ Promo Sees Her Emerge From 17 Years of Hiding

Maya Rudolph‘s Saturday Night Live hosting gig appears to be a long time in the making. In this week’s promo for the actress’ upcoming episode, the SNL alum emerges from a Studio 8H closet after 17 years in hiding. SNL castmembers Andrew Dismukes and Chloe Troast find Rudolph in her hiding place, where she sits in a prairie-like outfit and tells them over a bowl of oatmeal, “Oh, hello there! I wasn’t expecting visitors.” The Loot star goes on to tell the shocked comedians she’s been there since 2007 when she left SNL after seven years as a castmember. “Why would I leave? I have everything I need here,” she says, pointing to “my books, my porridge, my dear friend Kenny.” The camera then pans to a mop with googly eyes. When Troast asks, “Aren’t you supposed to be hosting this week?” Rudolph responds, “Oh I am. Would you guys mind closing the door? I’m going to need to freshen up.” At that, Rudolph magically appears via a puff of smoke behind the castmembers, dressed …

Ash Ponders for NPR TUCSON, Ariz. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent Ryan Riccucci was on patrol in the Baboquivari Mountains in Arizona, close to the U.S.-Mexico border, on a night in 2009. The mountains are rugged and remote — an ideal route for people hoping to sneak narcotics into the U.S., according to Riccucci. “As he sees fit”: Trump lays out the stakes — and the media is starting to hear his message

“As he sees fit”: Trump lays out the stakes — and the media is starting to hear his message

The election stakes are as stark as they’re simple: Law and order to ensure freedom versus lawlessness and disorder without freedom. That message screams aloud from the pages of TIME Magazine’s most recent cover story, “How far would Trump go?” It’s based on interviews with Trump and others close to him, including a full transcript and fact-check. The most chilling example of what is at stake this fall is the devastation of women’s right to privacy and reproductive freedom. Trump “would let red states monitor women’s pregnancies and prosecute those who violate abortion bans.” A scenario that gruesomely echoes The Handmaid’s Tale.  Doubt he means it? He’s already bragged about his role in overturning Roe v. Wade. Now he’s endorsing the next governmental invasion of women’s bodies.  It’s not only abortion rights he’s after. All the individual freedoms our Constitution guarantees are at risk if we hand power to someone intent on being a dictator “on Day One.” As the eminent historian Ruth Ben-Ghiat tweeted Tuesday, “Trump has been conditioning Americans for years to desire authoritarian …

US sees no indications of intent to hurt US troops building Gaza pier

Washington —  U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said late Thursday he does not see signs that Hamas is going to attack U.S. forces who are building a pier off the coast of Gaza to deliver aid to the war-torn strip by sea. “I don’t see any indications currently that there is an active intent to do that,” Austin told reporters at a press conference in Hawaii. Austin stressed that the top commander of U.S. forces in the Middle East, CENTCOM chief Gen. Erik Kurilla, has put several security measures in place to keep the troops who are building the pier and helping with aid distribution safe. “Our allies are also providing security in that area as well, and so it’s going to require that we continue to coordinate with them very closely to ensure that if anything happens that, you know, our troops are protected,” Austin said. The new port is just southwest of Gaza City. Last week a mortar attack targeted the port site but officials said no one was hurt. “This is an …

DBS sees net profit rising this year after Q1 beats forecasts

SINGAPORE: Singapore’s biggest bank DBS Group expects its net profit this year to grow from 2023, it said on Thursday (May 2), after posting a 15 per cent rise in first quarter net profit that beat expectations, driven by strong total income growth. Total income growth was projected to be 1 to 2 percentage points above previous guidance of the mid-single-digits, according to DBS CEO Piyush Gupta’s outlook observations slides accompanying the results. Group net interest income is expected to be modestly better than 2023 levels, he said in the slides. Commercial book non-interest income growth was expected to be in the mid-to-high teens per cent on better-than-expected momentum in wealth management and treasury customer sales, according to the slides. DBS, the first Singapore lender to report this earnings season, said January to March net profit rose to S$2.96 billion (US$2.18 billion) from S$2.57 billion a year earlier on the back of a stable net interest margin, higher fee income and treasury customer sales. This beat the mean estimate of S$2.48 billion from five analysts, LSEG …
