Ukraine Seeks To Import African Migrants To Fill Labor Shortage After 100s Of 1000s Dead Or Wounded At The Front

Via Remix News, Volodymyr Zelensky’s head of his Presidential Office in Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, has announced plans to import migrant laborers from Africa. Essentially, this entails Ukraine establishing new laws for the legal entry and residence of foreign workers. The government will introduce a new list of “migration-risk” countries to facilitate this plan, according to remarks Budanov made at the CEO Club Ukraine. “They enter, obtain documents, and then move on. This is a problem that creates barriers for business,” Budanov reportedly said, emphasizing that Ukraine will now move to make it easier for migrants to stay and work in Ukraine. Last October, rumors swirled that Ukraine was directly recruiting mercenaries from Latin American drug cartels to fight in its war against Russia. Kyiv’s forced conscription policies at home, which often resort to violence, have already raised numerous concerns about the brutal practices of Zelensky’s military as well as the desperate situation Ukraine is in due to loss of life on the frontlines. It has long been known that Ukraine faces a serious demographic crisis, now exacerbated by men …

Cher seeks conservatorship over her son Elijah Blue Allman following multiple arrests

Cher seeks conservatorship over her son Elijah Blue Allman following multiple arrests

Cher has filed a conservatorship to take control of her son Elijah Blue Allman’s estate. The news comes weeks after the 49-year-old only son of Cher and the late Allman Brothers founder Gregg Allman was arrested twice in the space of three days. Days after his initial arrest for allegedly causing a disturbance at a private school with which he had no affiliation, Allman was arrested again in Windham, New Hampshire, after he allegedly broke into a home. Cher previously filed a conservatorship in December 2023, arguing at the time that Allman could not take care of himself or “manage his own financial resources” because of alleged issues with drug abuse. Allman responded to that filing by insisting he had been “clean and sober from illicit substances for over 90 days” and Cher withdrew legal proceedings. However, following the recent arrests Cher has now filed for a conservatorship for the second time. In court documents obtained by Page Six, she argues that her son’s life has “significantly deteriorated since a prior conservatorship petition was filed.” …

L.A.’s history-making wolf lands in Eastern Sierra, seeks forever home

L.A.’s history-making wolf lands in Eastern Sierra, seeks forever home

A wolf that seized national attention when she ventured into Los Angeles County earlier this year continues to make history. The 3-year-old female with black fur entered Inyo County around 7 a.m. Sunday about 20 miles south of Mt. Whitney. She became the first documented wolf to set paws in the Eastern Sierra county in more than a century, according to state wildlife officials. By early Monday afternoon, she had pushed deeper into the county to west of the community of Bartlett, said Axel Hunnicutt, gray wolf coordinator for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Her movements are tracked with a GPS collar. Share via Close extra sharing options The wolf — known as BEY03F — essentially traversed the Sierra Nevada in the span of three to four days, a feat Hunnicutt believes was made possible by a low snowpack this season. She was “able to amazingly quickly cross quite mountainous terrain,” he said. “I don’t think I could do that in three days.” The roughly 60-mile journey adds to the hundreds of miles …

Kalshi seeks preliminary injunction as tribes oppose Arizona betting crackdown

Kalshi seeks preliminary injunction as tribes oppose Arizona betting crackdown

Kalshi is asking a federal judge in Arizona to step in and halt state enforcement actions targeting its event-based trading platform. The move ramps up a growing legal fight over whether Kalshi’s contracts should be treated as legitimate financial products or illegal sports betting. The company’s request is based on a preliminary injunction that would block Arizona officials from continuing what Kalshi describes as a criminal case tied to its platform. In a reply brief filed Tuesday (March 31), the prediction market platform argues the state is crossing a line by trying to regulate activity it says falls squarely under federal commodities law. FedEx Seeks Tariff Refund With Lawsuit Against US

FedEx Seeks Tariff Refund With Lawsuit Against US

Authored by Jill McLaughlin via The Epoch Times, FedEx is suing the United States Feb. 23, seeking a full refund on President Donald Trump’s emergency tariffs after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled his use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) lacked authorization. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. Court of International Trade, seeks to recoup all duties paid by FedEx as a result of IEEPA orders and any interest accrued, plus attorney’s fees. The Tennessee-based shipping giant focused its lawsuit mainly on the emergency tariffs imposed on Mexico, Canada, and China, and the 10 percent baseline tariff on all imports to the United States, which went into effect on April 5, 2025. In the Learning Resources v. Trump case, the Supreme Court ruled Feb. 20 that Trump’s tariffs violated the emergency powers law he invoked last year to impose levies on China, Canada, Mexico, and other countries. Tariffs enacted under other laws were not affected by the ruling. The president declared a national emergency under IEEPA starting on Feb. 1, 2025, to address …

OpenAI pushes into higher education as India seeks to scale AI skills

OpenAI is expanding its footprint in India and moving into the country’s higher-education system through partnerships with leading academic institutions. The move comes as the South Asian nation seeks to scale AI skills and build domestic capacity in one of the world’s largest talent markets. On Wednesday, OpenAI said it was partnering with six public and private higher-education institutions in India, including top engineering, management, medical, and design-focused institutes, with the aim of reaching more than 100,000 students, faculty, and staff over the next year. Rather than focusing on consumer use, the initiative centers on integrating AI into core academic functions, signalling OpenAI’s interest in influencing how AI is taught, governed, and normalized within one of the world’s largest higher-education systems. OpenAI has already built a large consumer audience for its ChatGPT chatbot, which has over 100 million monthly active users in India, according to CEO Sam Altman, and India has emerged as the company’s second-largest user base after the U.S. The announcement also coincides with a broader push by leading AI firms to deepen …
