King Charles makes surprising decision at 76: ‘It’s behind me’

King Charles is a busy man, travelling the world in the name of duty, and gamely getting stuck into all manner of activities during public engagements, so it’s easy to forget that the monarch is approaching 80 – and no longer the young man he once was. During a visit to Teesside on Thursday, the King reminded the public he’s not quite so nimble as he once was, telling a Swiss man he met, “I think my skiing days are behind me.” © Photo: Getty ImagesKing Charles was a keen skier in his youth Once a keen skier, regularly taking to the slopes with his sons, Princes William and Harry, it’s a shame the King no longer feels comfortable taking to the mountain – and it’s not the only passion he’s admitted he has retired from. King Charles’s Romanian bolthole – and you can stay there for £100 a night | Royal | News

Many will be unaware that King Charles has a secret European getaway – and you can stay there, too. The monarch is a frequent visitor to Romania and is adored by the populace. He possesses many unusual properties in the country’s Transylvanian region. After falling in love with the region during an official visit in 1998, King Charles purchased the Blue House in Transylvania, Romania, in 2006. The location is like something out of a fairytale, thanks to its wildflower meadows and the rolling hills of the Zalán Valley. But the area’s “sustainability” and “timelessness” touched Charles. When he is not residing there, the lively farmhouse in the little village of Viscri is open to visitors. The King often stays in the country for a few days yearly and is frequently spotted hiking and mingling with people. The home itself has seven bedrooms without radios or televisions to create a calm and serene atmosphere. The Blue House’s rooms average about £100 per night and have ancient Transylvanian furnishings. By repairing the cottage using conventional techniques and …

The 3 rarely seen but adored royal kids King Charles sees far more of than Archie and Lili | Royal | News

King Charles III is said to enjoy spending time with Zara and Mike Tindall’s three children – Mia, 10, Lena, five, and Lucas, three. The monarch, a proud grandfather to five, is known to spend a lot of time with his three eldest grandchildren, Prince William’s trio – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six. Although he spends time with George, Charlotte, and Louis, the King has spent very little time with Prince Harry’s two children – Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, two. Archie, who celebrated his fifth birthday earlier this week, and Lilibet now live in the US – more than 5,000 miles from their royal relatives in the UK. Due to the distance, Mia, Lena, and Lucas appear to spend more time with the King than Harry’s children. Here, Express.co.uk looks at the three rarely-seen, but adored, royal children that spend more time with the monarch than Archie and Lilibet. Mia Grace Tindall – the eldest child of Zara and Mike Tindall – was born in January 2014 at …

King Charles was all smiles as he welcomed guests to Buckingham Palace for the first Royal Garden Party of the year on Wednesday.  The monarch, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, welcomed around 8,000 people to the royal residence in recognition of their service to local communities, charities, the military, and other organisations. Alex Beresford in four-word reply to Prince Harry’s crowd reaction and fans say same thing | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Alex Beresford replied to ITV’s Royal Editor Chris Ship following claims Prince Harry was snubbed upon returning to London. The Duke of Sussex attended a special service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday to mark the 10-year anniversary of the Invictus Games. Harry donned a navy suit and military medals as he climbed the steps of the cathedral where he smiled and waved at the crowds. Chris shared a video of his entrance and captioned the post: “Prince Harry at @StPaulsLondon for the 10 year anniversary service of @WeAreInvictus which he set up in 2014. “No Meghan or King or William.” He added: “But members of Princess Diana’s family are here. Along with Harry’s Invictus family of military veterans.” GMB’s Alex issued a four-word reply: “And not one Boo…” His comments come after it was previously reported Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had been met with a mixed reception when they attended a Jubilee event in honour of the Queen at St Paul’s two years ago. The royal received a positive response at the ceremony …

Prince Harry Supported By Family Members At UK Service

Prince Harry received support from two of Princess Diana’s siblings at his engagement in the UK today. The Duke of Sussex attended the Invictus Games Foundation’s 10th Anniversary celebration at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday. The event marked 10 years since the inception of the games, which are a Paralympic-style event for wounded service people and veterans. The service was attended by two siblings of the late Princess of Wales: Charles Spencer and Lady Jane Fellowes. The duke was also joined by actor Damian Lewis, who read the poem “Invictus.” Harry once named Lewis as the actor he’d want to portray him in the Netflix series The Crown. Royal Family LIVE: Harry slammed as ‘toxic influence’ after King snub | Royal | News

Prince Harry has been branded a “toxic influence” by one journalist after King Charles failed to reunite with his son during his stint in London. The Duke of Sussex flew into the UK earlier this week to attend the Invictus Games 10th anniversary service at St Paul’s Cathedral, and he had hoped to be able to see his father while they were in the same city. But a spokesperson for Harry later confirmed that the King’s packed schedule had made this impossible, with many speculating that His Majesty had chosen to avoid meeting his son. Speaking on GB News on Wednesday night, Lowri Turner described the King’s decision as being a “megaphone in a quietly elegant way to say ‘you’re not welcome’.” She said: “Nothing concentrates the mind like being diagnosed with cancer, and maybe he’s taken a leaf out of Harry’s Californian book and thought about, ‘I don’t need toxic influences in my life at the moment’. “Harry’s a bit of a toxic influence, certainly Camilla probably thinks so.” THIS IS A LIVE BLOG. King Charles gesture showed ‘potential’ to get close with Meghan Markle | Royal | News

Meghan Markle, despite having the “potential” to bond with King Charles, was unable to bridge the gap before a bitter feud came into the picture. Although Meghan is no longer on good terms with the Royal Family, one specialist believes there could have been an opportunity to foster a “strong” kinship within the family. Marrying into The Firm in 2018 when she wed Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex became a focal point for royal observers around the globe. However, the couple sent shockwaves worldwide with their decision to step down as senior royals just two years later. The Royal Family has since found themselves at odds with Harry and Meghan as the pair continue to make damning allegations about The Firm. According to relationship guru Louella Alderson, although it seems improbable that harmony will be restored, she points out there was a stage when Meghan could have built a “deeper level” connection with her in-laws. In an exclusive sit-down with the Mirror, Louella highlighted how King Charles’ offer to accompany Meghan at her wedding …
