Jerry Hall hasn’t aged a day in modelling photos from ‘It-couple’ days with Mick Jagger

Jerry Hall is currently starring in The Celebrity Traitors, and while she’s making a hilarious name for herself as she bonds with fellow faithful, Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, we cannot get over her killer on-screen wardrobe. The 80s model stole our attention with a pair of cherry-red cowboy boots last week, but what were we to expect from one of the biggest supermodels of her generation? Casting our minds back to the blonde bombshell’s peak modelling days, we can’t help but gush over Jerry’s killer cheekbones, tumbling blonde tresses – and it’s safe to say she hasn’t aged a day. One standout shot from 1985 saw the Italian Vogue covergirl doing what she does best and posing for the camera, pulling her hands through her waist-length curls. Jerry, who was married to rockstar Mick Jagger during the height of her epic career, was wearing a plunging strapless dress and a slick of iridescent lipstick, the piece de resistance her array of diamonds on her wrists, neck and ears. © Getty ImagesJerry posed for the …

Happy HOCO ladies!” he wrote in the caption, referring to their homecoming event. The adult children start fussing around, acting like a concerned parent, tut-tutting at their irresponsible behaviour and life choices and the parent feels upset and frustrated that they are being treated like a child. And that’s what has seemingly happened to Jerry Hall, 70, the former model and ex-wife of Mick Jagger, who has revealed that their four children, Elizabeth, 42, James, 41, Georgia May, 34, and Gabriel, 28, have made it known that they are concerned about her hurting herself as …

Tom Cruise’s famous child co-star Jonathan Lipnicki makes rare appearance 30 years after Jerry Maguire role

Tom Cruise’s famous child co-star Jonathan Lipnicki makes rare appearance 30 years after Jerry Maguire role

Jonathan Lipnicki was one of the most recognizable child stars of the ’90s after stealing scenes alongside Tom Cruise and Renée Zellweger in Jerry Maguire. But almost 30 years after winning over audiences as bespectacled Ray Boyd, the actor looked worlds away from his child star days as he made a rare red carpet appearance in Los Angeles. Jonathan, 35, stepped out for the premiere of A24’s Primetime, looking dapper in a sage green suit teamed with a black shirt and a purple pocket square. Sporting a neatly trimmed beard and his hair styled in a short, swept-back cut, the former child star looked worlds away from the bespectacled little boy who famously told Tom’s character that “the human head weighs eight pounds” in the 1996 hit. The outing was particularly significant for Jonathan, marking his first red carpet appearance in two years as well as a major return to the big screen. © InstagramJonathan 30 years after Jerry Maguire Jonathan’s Hollywood comeback Jonathan appears alongside Robert Pattinson in Primetime, director Lance Oppenheim’s movie inspired …

Jerry Hsu on Skating in His 40s, Running Sci-Fi Fantasy, and His New Photo Book How About Never

Jerry Hsu on Skating in His 40s, Running Sci-Fi Fantasy, and His New Photo Book How About Never

Jerry Hsu became a professional skater at 16, which is to say he’s spent the majority of his life looking at the world differently than most. Skating is a pursuit that requires you to see the potential in things everyone else has agreed to ignore. A jagged brick wall becomes something to glide on. A dirty gravel pit becomes something to clear. The outside world starts to look like a playground of possibilities. Once you learn to pay attention, there is the potential for magic around every corner. It turns out this is pretty good training for becoming a photographer. Hsu, now 44, has carried a camera for much of his adult life, developing a wide-ranging photographic practice alongside his 20-plus-year career in skateboarding. In 2017, he “fake retired,” as he puts it, walking away from both professional skating and his sponsors. Around the same time, he started the skate brand Sci-Fi Fantasy, an art project that gradually became something resembling a real business. “There was something about skateboarding that really wouldn’t let me go,” …

Apocalypse Blindness | Jerry Brown

Apocalypse Blindness | Jerry Brown

Ever since the end of the cold war, the subject of nuclear war and the profound threat it poses to humanity has suffered a “peculiar invisibility.” This is the phrase the German philosopher Günther Anders used in his book The Obsolescence of the Human (1956) to illuminate the roots of the “Apokalypse-Blindheit”—“apocalypse blindness”—that had begun to set in just a few years after the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.1 Seventy years on, despite the construction of gigantic nuclear arsenals and several near catastrophes, the blindness persists. Today each of America’s fourteen nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines is capable of launching 160 warheads with a combined explosive force of up to 73,000 kilotons, roughly the equivalent of five thousand Hiroshimas. The Russians possess a similar capability. A mere fraction of the nuclear weapons that exist today could kill millions of people within minutes. Hundreds of detonations could ignite massive fires, lofting soot into the atmosphere and blocking sunlight, potentially triggering a nuclear winter. The resulting disruption to global food systems would threaten billions of …

Jerry Sandusky, former Penn State coach convicted of sex abuse, seeks new trial after victim recants

Jerry Sandusky, former Penn State coach convicted of sex abuse, seeks new trial after victim recants

Disgraced former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky appeared virtually in court Tuesday and told a judge he understood his legal team’s move to seek a new trial in federal court after one of his accusers recanted. Tainted victim testimony led to Sandusky’s wrongful conviction for child sexual abuse, according to his lawyers, who believe their client’s best chances for freedom now come from moving the case from the Pennsylvania system to a U.S. courthouse. But in moving this case to another court, Sandusky’s legal team surrenders its right to litigate in state court claims that Victim No. 10, identified in court papers as “R.R.,” was manipulated to give misleading testimony. Sandusky, 82, who is serving at least 30 years at State Correctional Institution Laurel Highland, was convicted after multiple people testified that he sexually abused them when they were boys. Sandusky used his name in the community and his nonprofit group, The Second Mile, to meet victims, prosecutors have said. Judge Maureen Skerda, a state senior judge who was appointed to hear the …

Portuguese Artists Drop Out of Jerry Seinfeld-Headlined Festival

Multiple acts participating in a comedy festival in Portugal, the inaugural MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest (Lisbon International Humour Festival), have announced that they are no longer participating. Actress Inês Aires Pereira announced on Saturday that her show Namastê was being removed from the festival‘s lineup and explained her reasoning being that “one of the names insistently defends ideas and acts that I consider indefensible.” She also added in her social media post: “We cannot relativize or normalize a genocide.” Her statement did not explicitly identify any particular act that she was referring to. The comedy duo Cebola Mol, made up of Eduardo Madeira and Filipe Homem Fonseca, also announced on Saturday that they too would not be performing in the festival. “We will celebrate justice, freedom and joy with you on another occasion,” they wrote on social media. Other acts to withdraw from the festival include concert “Tributo Pop” (Carolina Deslandes, Tatanka and Bárbara Tinoco), the group Conjunto Cuca Monga, comedian Pedro Tochas and visual artist Vhils (Alexandre Farto). The pet I’ll never forget: Jerry, the king of dogs, who taught me how to live | Life and style

The pet I’ll never forget: Jerry, the king of dogs, who taught me how to live | Life and style

Jerry came into our lives because a burglar had broken in. My mum had woken in the middle of the night to find an intruder in our kitchen. He scarpered, but the psychological damage was done. Two days later, my dad came home with the cutest little rescue puppy, with traces of beagle and labrador in him. He was two months old, had a black, brown and white coat, and big, bashful eyes. We called him Jerry because we had a cat called Tom. “I’m not sure how he’ll protect us,” I said. “He will,” my dad replied. Jerry was very laid-back and Zen. He became part of the family straight away. He also became the therapy dog we hadn’t realised we needed. With two teenagers in the house (me and my older brother) and a hyperactive younger brother, someone was always in a strop and needing to let off steam by taking him out for a walk. Each time, Jerry obliged. I’d bore him with my latest teen-romance trauma; he was a very good …

Judge Will Hear Recantation of Sexual Abuse Claim Against Ex-Penn State Coach Jerry Sandusky

Judge Will Hear Recantation of Sexual Abuse Claim Against Ex-Penn State Coach Jerry Sandusky

A judge has granted a hearing to explore claims that a man wants to recant allegations of sexual abuse years ago by Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. Sandusky, 82, has been serving a decades-long prison sentence since he was convicted of 45 counts of sexual abuse in 2012. Eight young men testified about what happened to them as boys. He has repeatedly lost efforts to get a new trial, but Sandusky’s lawyers are trying again. A man identified in court documents as R.R. said he was coached extensively by authorities. “I was told — both directly and indirectly — that trauma may have fragmented my memory, and that I could safely affirm details I did not fully recall. I was assured this was common and even expected,” R.R. said in an affidavit filed by Sandusky’s attorneys. A court hearing in Centre County has been scheduled for Sept. 8. R.R.’s allegations were “based on suggestive leading questioning, prosecutorial coercion and influence, confirmatory bias and memory manipulation, which permeated throughout each of the accusers as …
