It isn’t just the Princess of Wales who had a penchant for an under-the-radar appearance this week.
Lady Helen Taylor, the daughter of the late Duchess of Kent, stepped out oozing royal chic, attending the launch of the Ever After Garden 2026 in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity at Duke of York Square earlier this week.
The royal doesn’t often make public appearances, but we certainly reaped the rewards as her low-key sartorial display was one we are adding to our autum/winter moodboard immediately.
Lady Helen attended the event in Chelsea, wearing the structured winter coat of dreams, which she paired with a knitted jumper and a crisp white collared shirt.
The event was created in 2019 by designer Dame Anya Hindmarch and the fashion writer Camilla Morton, following the loss of their friend, the late production designer Michael Howells, who was a trustee of the Royal Marsden.
The charity is incredibly close to Helen, who is a trustee of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, as her husband, Timothy “Tim” Taylor, was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, a form of blood cancer, in 1998 and successfully underwent chemotherapy at London’s The Royal Marsden Hospital at the age of 39.
The Royal Marsden holds personal significance for the Prince and Princess of Wales, who took on joint patronage of the Foundation Trust in January 2025 following Catherine’s chemotherapy treatment at the London hospital.
Lady Helen’s most recent appearances
This marks the second appearance from the royal in recent weeks.
In October, Lady Helen was joined by her sons, Columbus Taylor, 32, and Cassius Taylor, 29.
The trio posed together for photos at the Frieze Art Fair 2026 VIP Preview.
Lady Helen was all smiles as she stood between her boys at Regent’s Park, dressed in a black ensemble accessorised with a black-and-white checkered scarf.
Columbus is the eldest of Helen and Timothy’s four children, a family that also includes their second son and two daughters, Eloise and Estella Taylor.
Over the years, Helen – the daughter of Queen Elizabeth II’s first cousin, the Duke of Kent, and his late wife – has frequently brought her son Cassius as her guest to the Frieze Art Fair VIP preview, including visits last year, in 2023, and in 2015. The prestigious art fair has long drawn members of the British royal family, with King Charles’ nieces, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, among its regular attendees.
