A 79-year-old great-grandmother is appealing a nationwide ban from Sainsbury’s, one of the UK’s largest supermarket chains, saying her local store is just a five-minute walk from her home.Rita Seymour, from Hook, Hampshire, England, said she was banned from all Sainsbury’s and Argos stores following an argument with staff at her local supermarket while trying to buy a lottery ticket.Seymour denies being abusive and said she has never caused trouble, adding that the next nearest supermarket is about a 20-minute walk away.Sainsbury’s said the decision followed “a number of incidents over time” and that it was made to protect the safety and wellbeing of colleagues and customers.
