Police recovered the body of a man from the sea near a major UK city. Officers were called to Rottingdean beach, four miles east of Brighton, on Friday morning over reports of a body.

Inquiries by Sussex Police are ongoing as the man has not yet been formally identified and the circumstances surrounding his death remain unknown at this time. The force remains at the scene, with a cordon in place.

A Sussex Police spokesperson told The Argus: “Police were called to the beach at Rottingdean on Friday morning, May 29, after a report of a body of a man found on the beach.

“He has not yet been formally identified and enquiries are being made to establish the full circumstances.”

Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, were found dead to the west of Brighton Marina at around 5.45am on May 13.

Their father Joseph released a statement through Sussex Police, saying their “smiles brightened dark days” and they will “remain in our hearts forever”.

He said: “Each of you was unique and precious in your own special way. Your smiles brightened dark days, your laughter brought comfort, and your presence made life more meaningful.

“Though your time on Earth was short, the impact you made will remain in our hearts forever.”

During the brief hearing at Brighton Coroner’s Court, coroner’s officer Victoria Foreman said police are satisfied there is no third-party involvement.
