2026’s Most Covetable Air Jordan 1s Have Landed

2026’s Most Covetable Air Jordan 1s Have Landed

If you were to cook up a ranking of the best Air Jordan 1 colorways ever—and, what do you know, we have—two collaborations would inevitably land near the top: 2014’s black, white, and blue linkup with Fragment Design, the brainchild of streetwear pioneer Hiroshi Fujiwara; and 2018’s Frankensteined remix by Union, the influential LA boutique helmed by Chris Gibbs. (We placed them fifth and sixth, respectively.) Now, those two wildly coveted kicks are being fused together to create a trio of new AJ1 colorways we’ll no doubt have to include on the next iteration of our list.

All three of the Union x Fragment x Air Jordan 1s (which are expected to retail for $220) feature iconic design elements from the brands’ previous Jordan Brand collabs—namely the deconstructed patchwork aesthetic that Union has made its signature, alongside the embossed lightning bolt logo and product code text along the heel seen on Fragment’s Jordan 3 circa 2020.

The first colorway to drop is the ‘White/Black’ version, decked out in a stark black and white with a small pop of Fragment blue peeking out from beneath the ankle guard. The shoe lands on February 7 at just five stores globally: Undefeated in New York City, Headquarter in Mexico City, Fragment in Tokyo, Starcow in Paris, and Tune in Seoul. Those hoping to cop at the latter will have to jump through significant hoops: the South Korean boutique announced it will require potential customers to show up wearing Fragment threads and play a lotto scratcher game for a chance to purchase the shoes.

Next up is perhaps the most classic and desirable colorway: the ‘Varsity Red,’ which takes the lower half of the original Fragment x Air Jordan 1 and swaps in the ankle of the Air Jordan 1 x Union ‘Storm Blue’ colorway from 2018. It’s scheduled to drop on February 14—smack in the middle of NBA All-Star Weekend in LA—alongside a Union x Fragment x Jordan apparel collection, via UnionJordanFragment.com.

The final iteration is the ‘Sport Royal’, which swaps the Union AJ1 ‘Black Toe’ ankle onto the body of the Air Jordan 1 ‘Royal Blue.’ Release information for this third colorway has yet to be revealed—but expect it to be just as hard to cop, and just as in demand on the secondary market, as its predecessors.
