Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (31 August), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet.
In tonight’s episode of Coronation Street, Todd’s erratic behaviour goes from bad to worse when he learns that Celeste has passed away.
Elsewhere, the Winter-Browns also struggle as the implications of Celeste’s death hit home.

1. Todd’s downward spiral isn’t over
Todd turns up at the Chariot Square Hotel to see Celeste, still drunk from the night before. It’s left to Ryan to break the news that Celeste has passed away, which leaves Todd feeling terrible for walking out on her.
Although Todd’s loved ones try their best to support him, he’s still on a self-destructive path and continues to lash out at those close to him.
2. Todd’s friends are divided
Todd’s loved ones have some tough discussions about his bad behaviour, with Christina and Glenda both raising concerns that the “softly-softly” approach is making the situation worse.
George makes one last attempt to reach out to Todd, but will it be enough?
3. Bernie puts on a brave face
Bernie assures the Winter-Browns that she’s feeling hopeful despite Celeste’s revelation that breast cancer runs in the family. She tries to convince everyone that the universe won’t dish out any further heartache so soon after the tragic loss of Paul.
Gemma isn’t so sure, and Kit is also visibly worried when he finds out what’s going on. As Gemma explains how breast cancer can affect men as well as women, Kit clearly has lots on his mind.
4. Debbie causes a stir at work
Ronnie senses that Debbie is having a bad day with her dementia symptoms, and offers to take the lead at the hotel by dealing with a supplier meeting.
Debbie is grateful that she can concentrate on lighter duties, but she sparks concern among the customers by unknowingly walking around in her slippers.
5. Brian and Maggie are left embarrassed
Eva spends her Bank Holiday recording social media clips at the Rovers, sensing that the pub needs to up its game now that Speed Daal is providing stronger competition.
Amid the chaos, Maggie and Brian are alarmed when Kirk tips them off that their recent passionate night is the talk of the factory.
