These include controversial reforms to tighten the eligibility criteria for disabled people receiving personal independence payments (PIP). According to the Resolution Foundation think-tank, the disability benefit cuts would mean between 800,000 and 1.2 million people losing support of between £4,200 and £6,300 per year by 2029-30. Charities have described the cuts as cruel, while some Labour MPs have also spoken out against the plans.
