Love Taylor Swift or hate her, the conspiracy theories about her are important to understand from a cultural standpoint. It is vital to know why these theories were inevitable. I’m using Taylor Swift as a proxy for a trend in conspiracy theorizing over the years. I’m concentrating on her for the same reason that conspiracy theorists do—she has become the most famous person in music. Full disclosure: I consider myself a fan.
