Usaf | Getty Images News | Getty Images The U.S. military has drawn up options for renewed strikes on Iran that include the potential use of one of the biggest non-nuclear bombs in its arsenal, CNN reported Thursday, as Tehran vowed to continue fighting for its demands. The strike plans involve the possible use of the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, nicknamed the “mother of all bombs,” CNN reported, citing multiple U.S. officials familiar with the matter. CNBC has not independently confirmed the report and has reached out to the Defense Department for comment. The 21,600-pound air-burst weapon is designed to affect surface targets over a wide area and has so far not been deployed by the U.S. in previous strikes on targets inside Iran. It was used in Afghanistan in 2017 during the previous Trump administration. U.S. President Donald Trump said last week that he would not …

New Apple Smart Home Hub Reportedly Called HomeView and Will Ship in November

The Apple smart home device that the company is expected to announce on Tuesday is called HomeView and will ship to consumers in November, according to a report Sunday by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The device, which will feature a display and be powered by an A18 chip, will act as a Siri command center for an Apple-powered smart home, Gurman reported. The HomeView will come in two versions: a countertop model with a metal speaker base and a wall-mounted version with a flat, square base. Apple didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. For more than a year, Apple has been rumored to be readying a Siri-focused smart display hub for the home, sometimes referred to as a HomePad, though we don’t know for sure that’ll be the name. This display would focus heavily on Siri AI and compete with products like Amazon’s Echo Show and the Google Nest Hub line by acting as a HomeKit hub. Alongside the HomeView, Apple is expected to unveil a new Apple TV set-top box powered by an A19 …

Maximizing Privacy? New Apple Home Security Cameras Reportedly Won’t Record Video

Maximizing Privacy? New Apple Home Security Cameras Reportedly Won’t Record Video

From Flock AI-powered security cameras to Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, people are getting frustrated with their everyday movements being recorded and tracked. Apple likely smells a market opportunity to do something different. According to Bloomberg News Managing Editor and Apple insider Mark Gurman, the company is developing a home security camera that can detect and notify about intruders — without capturing video footage. The device would be a companion to the new AI-powered home hub the company is slated to launch Oct. 13. A representative for Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Speaking on his brand-new Power On podcast, Gurman said the cameras would be smallish cylinders — “like a metal ChapStick” — and could be placed anywhere and everywhere in the home. Acting more like sensors than video recorders, the cameras would reportedly use AI facial recognition to determine who and what is moving around inside and outside the house. The devices have a low frame rate, which means they’ll take far fewer still images than typical video cameras. The …

Diddy Reportedly Ran Fort Dix Prison Cell Like Luxury Suite, Paid Staff

Diddy Reportedly Ran Fort Dix Prison Cell Like Luxury Suite, Paid Staff

Sean “Diddy” Combs may not be getting out of prison as soon as expected after a Dateline segment this week detailed the luxe lifestyle the rap mogul has allegedly built behind bars, complete with a team of fellow inmates treated like his personal staff. Since arriving at Fort Dix in October 2025 after more than a year at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, Combs has seen his projected release date bounce around the front half of the 2028 calendar, shifting several times between January and June. It now stands at Jan. 21, 2028. In that time, he has entered a drug rehabilitation program at the New Jersey facility, has been involved in a fight with another inmate, and violated several prison rules while serving a 50-month sentence for Mann Act violations. A report from NBC News’ Dateline this week indicated that the former near-billionaire Bad Boy founder had extended his luxurious lifestyle to his prison cell, where a crew of incarcerated men has been receiving funds in their commissary accounts in exchange for doing …

Musk’s AI chatbot Grok reportedly encouraged Trump to capture Venezuela’s president

Musk’s AI chatbot Grok reportedly encouraged Trump to capture Venezuela’s president

In December 2025, about a month before the U.S. invaded Venezuela and captured its president, Nicolás Maduro, President Trump had a secret meeting with Elon Musk, Time magazine reports. This was roughly seven months after Musk left his role in the Trump administration at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). During this meeting, Trump “spent hours” talking to Musk’s Grok chatbot, including asking how Venezuelans would respond to the capture of their president, a source told Time. Just a few months earlier, in September, Trump began ordering U.S. military strikes against Venezuelan boats that Trump alleged were involved in drug trafficking. People had apparently been turning to Grok asking about the boat strikes and political climate in Venezuela, as The Atlantic reported at the time. So Grok told Trump that Maduro was a “deeply unpopular dictator and that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall,” Time reported. When such celebrations indeed happened after the U.S. invaded on January 3, Trump apparently “came away thinking Grok was ingenious,” that source told Time. So perhaps it should come …

Apple Is Reportedly Ready to Release Its Smarter Home Hub in 2 Weeks

Apple’s HomePod and Apple TV might finally be getting a smart-home sibling in a couple of weeks, and it could look a lot like the company’s friendly iMac G4 design, with a round base and screen mounted on an articulating arm. In his latest Power On newsletter, which has a track record of accurately reporting internally sourced news, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple plans to announce a new AI-powered smart-home hub on Oct. 13. The device will feature advanced Siri capabilities and use voice and facial recognition to automatically identify different family members. Alongside the new device, the HomePod mini and Apple TV set-top box are also getting upgrades, with newer processors to handle Siri AI requests and more colors for the small speaker, including pink and green. According to Gurman, the hub’s prominent feature will be a 6-inch rounded-corner screen with a FaceTime camera that would identify the person addressing it. That person’s preferences will be displayed, including their calendar, notes and apps. When someone else uses it, their information will appear. (It’s unclear whose …
