Tesla is preparing to enter limited trial production of the new Model Y “Juniper” refresh in its Shanghai factory on October 22nd, according to a Chinese car blogger. Tesla released its “Highland” Model 3 refresh last August, and it was a much more significant overhaul than we were expecting. The headline features were a new front-end, more efficiency, and a quieter cabin. But there were a lot of other interior improvements as well (and one big de-provement, the deletion of steering column stalks). Since then, there has been speculation that a Model Y refresh is coming soon. While the Model Y is not currently as old as the Model 3 was when it received its refresh, it stands to reason that there would be a number of people who are now waiting for a potential Model Y refresh before buying the car. The new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models are equipped with OLED displays that support a refresh rate as low as 10Hz, but the devices still lack an always-on display option like the iPhone and Apple Watch have, according to Apple’s tech specs. While the iPad Pro has supported ProMotion since 2017, the device only supported refresh rates between 24Hz and 120Hz until now. Apple is likely to skip an M3 version of the Mac mini in favor of a bigger update with M4 chips toward the end of the year, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. In the latest edition of his “Power On” newsletter, Gurman explained that he does not expect Apple to refresh the ‌Mac mini‌ with M3 chips. Apple last updated the ‌Mac mini‌ with the M2 and ‌M2‌ Pro chips in January 2023. Other new features included two extra Thunderbolt 4 ports and an HDMI 2.1 port for ‌M2‌ Pro configurations, Wi-Fi 6E support with a compatible router, and Bluetooth 5.3. Hyundai has updated its Korean website with details about the expected refresh of its popular Ioniq 5 EV, with only minor changes from the original design but a lot of new features on the inside. We’ve been expecting a refresh to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and an apparent facelift was spotted testing last year, complete with your standard ugly automaker camouflage covering up the doors and bumpers. One week after announcing a 2024 refresh of its flagship 001 shooting brake was coming, Zeekr has officially launched the EV with better performance and pricing. Through these upgrades, the Chinese automaker looks to stay competitive in a competitive segment and double sales and deliveries compared to 2023. The 001 is the flagship EV from Geely-owned automaker Zeekr, which originally debuted in April 2021 and found early success in China. Zeekr would eventually expand to new markets in Europe with the 001 before introducing a high-performance quad motor variant called the 001 FR in 2023. In 2023, the 001 contributed to 64% of Zeekr’s global sales, and although the automaker has introduced three additional models since (not including the FR), the shooting brake remains its money maker. That said, Zeekr’s newest model, the 007, began deliveries in January and immediately overtook the 001, relaying that this is a wise time for a refresh.
