Over 35,000 kilos of butter has been recalled for containing a well-known ingredient which failed to be mentioned on its packaging.  A whopping 35,924 kilos of the product has been taken off the shelves at the wholesale retailer Costco as Kirkland Signature butter did not state that the product ‘contains milk’.  The popular household item lists that it contains cream, but may be missing the ‘contains milk’ statement, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  Over 2,000 cases of butter have been recalled – this includes 900 cases of Kirkland Signature Salted Sweet Cream Butter and 1,300 cases of Kirkland Signature Unsalted Sweet Cream Butter. The mislabelled product was produced by Continental Dairy Facilities Southwest LLC and distributed in Texas in the United States.  The FDA recalled the product from shelves on October 11, however, it was reclassified on Thursday last week to a Class II. This category means products can ’cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote’. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission warned that all models of Fisher-Price’s Snuga Swings should never be used for sleep or have bedding materials added. The products’ headrest and seat pad body support insert can increase risks of suffocation, the notice published Thursday said. There have been five reports of deaths involving infants between 1 to 3 months old when the product was used for sleep, according to the commission. In most of those incidents, which took place from 2012 to 2022, bedding material was added to the product and the babies were unrestrained. Consumers are urged to immediately cut off the headrest …

SACRAMENTO —  California cannabis regulators on Tuesday recalled a pesticide-tainted vape, one of scores of contaminated products identified in a Los Angeles Times investigation that disclosed the state for months has known about dangerous chemicals in legal weed sold to the public. The product ordered pulled from sale is an “Orange Cookies”-flavored West Coast Cure vape cartridge produced in September. The state recall said the vape exceeded safety limits for a single chemical, the insecticide chlorfenapyr. The Department of Cannabis Control did not immediately disclose how many of the vapes remained on store shelves, but posted online a list of 169 locations throughout the state where the product had been sold. The product’s safety certificate came from a lab whose license has since been suspended. That lab, Verity Analytics, reported the batch consisted of nearly 5,000 vapes. It was among a dozen West Coast Cure batches manufactured in September — consisting of more than 62,000 vapes in assorted flavors — that private lab Infinite Chemical Analysis tested last fall and reported to state regulators as containing …

A third sandwich and wrap manufacturer has recalled one of its products after an E coli outbreak that has left 67 people in hospital and more than 200 in total seriously ill. On Sunday evening the Food Standards Agency (FSA) said This had “taken the precautionary step of recalling its This Isn’t Chicken and Bacon wrap because of possible contamination with E coli”. The FSA said the company, which supplies the vegan meat-substitute wraps only to WH Smith, had not detected E coli in the product. On Friday the Guardian revealed that Greencore, which supplies sandwiches, wraps and salads to many of the UK’s biggest supermarkets, had recalled 45 wraps, sandwiches and salads. Samworth Brothers, which supplies Tesco and the One Stop convenience store chain, has recalled 15 lines of sandwiches and wraps. The This wraps being recalled have a best before date of 18 June.
