Microsoft has finally opened preorders for the Xbox 25th Anniversary Collection it unveiled back in June. The bundle includes a special-edition Xbox console and controller with matching translucent “OG Green” designs inspired by the original Xbox Launch Team Edition system from 2001. The Xbox 25th Anniversary Collection costs $899.99 and is set for release on Nov. 13. Shoppers can also purchase the controller separately for $79.99; it arrives Oct. 20. Includes a free download of “Halo: Campaign Evolved.” “This collection is our way of celebrating the community that has made Xbox what it is today,” said Jason Ronald, VP of Next Generation at Xbox, in a blog post Wednesday. “Thank you for being part of this journey.” The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console has a power button that glows green and an Xbox 25th Anniversary logo on its facade. Let’s dive in. Ebook Pricing Hot Topic For Libraries Library organizations are taking up the mantle of ebook pricing again. The Public Library Association and four other organizations have signed on to a joint statement urging publishers to work with libraries to create more sustainable ebook lending models, and more states are taking up legislation to address the problem. Rhode Island just passed a law against predatory pricing models for ebooks and digital audiobooks, Illinois has a similar law moving through committee, and the Connecticut Library Consortium is calling on more states to do the same. Rivian has opened the online configurator for the R2, its critical mid-size electric SUV, giving reservation holders their first chance to spec out the vehicle ahead of deliveries. The Performance trim starts at $57,990 — just under Tesla’s Model Y Performance at $58,880. The configurator launch comes ahead of Rivian’s previously communicated June timeline, signaling confidence in the R2 production ramp at its Normal, Illinois factory. The R2 is the most important vehicle in Rivian’s lineup. While the R1S and R1T established the brand, they were always too expensive to move the kind of volume Rivian needs to reach profitability. The R2 changes that equation, and the configurator gives us our first detailed look at exactly what buyers will get — and what they’ll pay. With the 2026 Winter Olympic Opening Ceremony set to begin in Milano and Cortina, Italy, tickets were still available within minutes of the ceremonies — and the cheapest ones start at around €1,400 (about $1,600 USD). That alone is striking. But it’s only part of a bigger story about how attending the Olympics has quietly become a luxury experience rather than a public celebration. It isn’t just the ceremony. Tickets for individual events remain widely available, even for traditionally popular competitions like figure skating, hockey and speed skating. Many of those seats cost hundreds of euros as well. A single evening of skating for in-person viewers can rival the price of a weekend getaway to Walt Disney World.
