The Good American founder slammed the mayor next to a video of Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley telling Fox 11 Los Angeles that the city had failed them after recent cuts to the department’s budget. “I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!!! You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn’t even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH,” Khloe wrote on Instagram last night (January 10). “Thank you for being honest. Ongoing iOS 18 Bug Prevents Photo Edits From Being Saved

Ongoing iOS 18 Bug Prevents Photo Edits From Being Saved

There is an ongoing but infrequent Photos bug that some iPhone users have been experiencing since upgrading to iOS 18. The issue occurs when attempting to save edits on an image, with users seeing the following message: “There was an error saving this photo. Please try again later.” As the message suggests, edits are not able to be saved, and hitting “Cancel” and discarding changes is the only way to get out of the editing interface. A lot of the complaints about the problem have been from users who have an iPhone 16 model, but it also appears to be impacting some older iPhones as well. We’ve run into this bug several times at MacRumors, and it seems to be impacting every version of ‌iOS 18‌ to date. Reports about the bug started in September, and have continued since then. Most recently, several beta testers running iOS 18.2 have reported seeing the popup. It is worth noting that this is an error that some people ran into before ‌iOS 18‌, but it appears to be …

Sonos Considering Bringing Back Its Old Mobile App Amid Ongoing Issues

Just a few months after debuting an all-new mobile app for controlling its audio products, Sonos is considering bringing back the previous version of the app following numerous user complaints, reports The Verge. While Sonos has been working to address a number of missing features and issues with the new app and has laid out a timeline to keep users updated on the company’s progress, The Verge reports that “discussions high up within Sonos” have centered around potentially offering the old app as an interim solution. Letting customers fall back to the older software could ease their frustrations and reduce at least some of the pressure on Sonos to rectify every issue with the new app. At least for now, the redesigned version is all that’s available, which makes it impossible for some customers to avoid its flaws. Just last week, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence revealed on the company’s earnings call that it will be delaying two upcoming product launches due to “challenges with our new app.” While Spence did not identify the products in …

French fencer Thibus confirmed for Paris 2024 despite ongoing doping case

French fencer Thibus confirmed for Paris 2024 despite ongoing doping case

PARIS : Ysaora Thibus, one of the favourites for gold in the foil event, was confirmed in the French fencing team for the Olympics, but she could later be stripped of any medal as an appeal from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is hanging over the 32-year-old. Thibus was suspended by the International Fencing Federation (FIE) in February after testing positive for the banned substance Ostarine before being cleared of any wrongdoing by the governing body in May. WADA, however, appealed the decision before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and demanded a four-year ban for the Tokyo silver medallist, although she is still allowed to compete until her case is resolved. It is unclear when the ruling is expected, but Thibus’s lawyer said it could take months. “It’s not an easy situation, but she’s a champion,” Joelle Monlouis told Reuters. “She is focused on the Games.” Thibus will also take part in the team event. “The French Fencing Federation has taken note of this non-suspensive appeal, which does not prevent Ysaora from taking …

Take That moves shows from Manchester’s Co-op Live venue over ‘ongoing technical issues’ | Ents & Arts News

Take That say they are moving their shows in May from the new Co-op Live venue to another Manchester arena. The band wrote on X: “Given the ongoing technical issues around the opening of Co-op Live we have taken the difficult decision to move our May shows to the AO Arena. “This is not a decision we have taken lightly, but we wanted to give our fans as much notice as possible.” It comes after the UK’s biggest indoor arena was hit by problems before it had even opened – with scheduled gigs, including performances from US singer Olivia Rodrigo – cancelled at short notice. On Friday, Peter Kay said he has been forced to postpone two shows there for a second time. The comedian was originally due to perform on 23 and 24 April, but the gigs, which were first pushed back to 29 and 30 April – have since been delayed until 23 and 24 May. This breaking news story is being updated and more details will be published shortly. Please refresh the …

Vice President Kamala Harris blames Trump for ongoing rollback of US abortion rights

Vice President Kamala Harris blames Trump for ongoing rollback of US abortion rights

US Vice President Kamala Harris sought to make Donald Trump the face of Florida’s strict new abortion ban Wednesday as Democrats hammer the issue ahead of November’s presidential election. Issued on: 02/05/2024 – 01:29Modified: 02/05/2024 – 01:27 3 min “Across our nation, we witness a full-on assault, state by state, on reproductive freedom. And understand who’s to blame: former president Donald Trump did this,” Harris said in a Jacksonville, Florida speech. Florida’s harsh new ban took effect Wednesday, outlawing all abortions after six weeks of pregnancy in a state that had been one of the last in the southern United States with a relatively high gestational limit. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has bragged about how justices he nominated allowed the conservative-leaning US Supreme Court to revoke the national right to abortion in 2022, in turn paving the way for 21 states to bring in total or partial bans. The Florida ban took effect as Arizona’s senate – controlled by Republicans – voted to repeal an 1864 law banning abortion, a month after the state’s top …

During wide-ranging talks with Chinese officials in Beijing, Blinken said the two sides had agreed to the first U.S.-China intergovernmental dialogue on AI to discuss the risks and safety concerns surrounding the emerging technology. “Earlier today we agreed to hold the first US PRC talks on artificial intelligence to be held in the coming weeks, to share our respective views on risks and safety concerns around advanced AI and how best to manage them,” Blinken said during a press conference. The U.S. imposed restrictions on Beijing’s ability to access high-end tech and is moving close to banning social media app TikTok, unless its Chinese parent ByteDance sells …

Columbia’s ongoing protests cause canceled classes and increased tensions

Columbia’s ongoing protests cause canceled classes and increased tensions

NEW YORK —  Columbia University held virtual classes Monday on the sixth continuous day of student protests over the Israel-Hamas conflict. University president Nemat “Minouche” Shafik sent an email to the Columbia community announcing that classes would be held virtually. “The decibel of our disagreements has only increased in recent days,” Shafik wrote. “These tensions have been exploited and amplified by individuals who are not affiliated with Columbia who have come to campus to pursue their own agendas. We need a reset.” More than 100 students were arrested at the school April 18, after the university’s president authorized police to clear away protesters. Some of the students also received suspension notices from the school. Columbia’s action prompted an onslaught of pro-Palestinian demonstrations at other universities and responses from faculty and politicians. The arrests occurred after students calling themselves Columbia University Apartheid Divest erected dozens of tents on a lawn at the center of the campus, establishing it as the “Gaza Solidarity Encampment.” Following the arrests and the demolition of the original encampment, another pro-Palestine encampment …

Long covid linked to signs of ongoing inflammatory responses in blood

Long covid linked to signs of ongoing inflammatory responses in blood

Fatigue is a common long covid symptom Catherine McQueen/Getty Images People who develop long covid after being hospitalised with severe covid-19 have raised levels of many inflammatory immune molecules compared with those who recovered fully after such a hospitalisation, according to a study of nearly 700 people. The findings show that long covid has a real biological basis, says team member Peter Openshaw at Imperial College London. “People are not imagining it,” he says. “It’s genuinely happening to them.” The researchers think the ongoing immune responses could be causing the symptoms of long covid. There are already some approved treatments that are designed to reduce these responses in other conditions, so the findings could lead to trials of these same drugs for the treatment of long covid. However, it is unclear whether the findings apply to people who develop long covid after milder SARS-CoV-2 infections that don’t require hospitalisation. It is also possible that, in some cases, the ongoing immune responses are due to persistent infection with SARS-CoV-2 or the activation of dormant viruses in the …
