The Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Edinburgh have stepped out to watch the annual Garter Day procession in Windsor. The King and Queen are leading the procession to St George’s Chapel for the service, along with the Prince of Wales, the Princess Royal and the Duke of Edinburgh. It marks Kate’s return to the event after missing it due to cancer treatment last year, with the Princess wearing a stunning Self-Portrait seen just a few weeks ago for the VE Day concert. The royals in the procession wear the traditional white plumed hats and dark blue velvet robes. The Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain, established by King Edward III nearly 700 years ago. The Order includes the King, who is sovereign of the Garter, the Queen, several members of the royal family, and up to 24 Companions. Companions of the Garter are chosen personally by the sovereign to honour those who have held public office, who have contributed in a particular way to …

Batteries that absorb carbon emissions move a step closer to reality – new study

Batteries that absorb carbon emissions move a step closer to reality – new study

What if there were a battery that could release energy while trapping carbon dioxide? This isn’t science fiction; it’s the promise of lithium-carbon dioxide (Li-CO₂) batteries, which are currently a hot research topic. Lithium-carbon dioxide (Li-CO₂) batteries could be a two-in-one solution to the current problems of storing renewable energy and taking carbon emissions out of the air. They absorb carbon dioxide and convert it into a white powder called lithium carbonate while discharging energy. These batteries could have profound implications for cutting emissions from vehicles and industry – and might even enable long-duration missions on Mars, where the atmosphere is 95% CO₂. To make these batteries commercially viable, researchers have mainly been wrestling with problems related to recharging them. Now, our team at the University of Surrey has come up with a promising way forward. So how close are these “CO₂-breathing” batteries to becoming a practical reality? Church Worship Service Credit: Rafael Oliveira, unsplash.com Reports coming in from around the world on how the Holy Spirit is moving and people are being drawn to faith. But along with this, there are also reports of a rise of satanism that was openly displayed at a recent soccer match in Germany. First the Good News The good is evidenced by churches reporting record attendance at Easter Sunday services in 2025. Along with this, many people embraced Christ during these services, CBN reports. It was happening at mega churches such as Prestonwood Baptist Church in North Texas, where senior Pastor Jack Graham wondered if this is an indicator that something even bigger is stirring. “It’s more than the usual high attendance at Easter…we are seeing the fires of revival burning and are on the cusp of Spiritual Awakening. Young men in particular are experiencing a hunger for God ….it is a Jesus movement in the making,” Pastor Graham noted on X. It was also taking place in California, where Greg Laurie pastors Harvest Christian Fellowship, …

Is a Wave is Building for the Next Move of the Holy Spirit? – OpentheWord.org

Credit Todd Turner, unsplash.com As the world struggles with economic and social chaos, there is evidence we are verging on a spiritual renewal. A wave is building. A verse in the book of Revelation has always intrigued me. In Revelation 14:6, John writes that he saw an “angel flying in midheaven with an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation, tribe, language, and people;” (Revelation 14:6 NASV). What would be the purpose of an angel preaching the Gospel in the midheaven? In Daniel, we read of the prophet’s dramatic encounter with an angel who spoke to Daniel from the spiritual realm. Daniel writes, “And he (Angel) said, “You who are treasured, do not be afraid. Peace be to you; take courage and be courageous!” Now as soon as he spoke to me, I felt strengthened and said, “May my lord speak, for you have strengthened me,” (Daniel 10:19 NASV). The Angel’s words actually strengthened Daniel. It was so significant, that Daniel wanted the angel to keep speaking.. Though spoken from the spiritual realm, angels can impact people in …

Trinity Evangelical Divinity School will move to Canada in acquisition deal

Trinity Evangelical Divinity School will move to Canada in acquisition deal

(RNS) — A prominent but troubled evangelical seminary has agreed to be acquired by a Canadian university and move to British Columbia, the school’s leaders announced Tuesday (April 8). The move comes after years of financial struggle and declining attendance at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School — known as TEDS — an Evangelical Free Church school whose alums have played an outsized role in shaping American evangelicalism. Trinity will continue to hold classes at its Bannockburn, Illinois, campus north of Chicago during the 2025-2026 academic year but will move to the campus of Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia, in 2026. Current faculty will get a contract for the coming year but it’s unclear how many will move to Canada in the future. The school said current students will be able to complete their program through in-person and online options. Students who are U.S. citizens will still be eligible for federal financial aid, though the school said details about scholarships for students have yet to be determined. Along with moving, TEDS will part ways with …

This one move will open up your chest and improve your spinal mobility, according to a personal trainer

This one move will open up your chest and improve your spinal mobility, according to a personal trainer

As a certified personal trainer with over a decade of experience, I’ve seen firsthand how prolonged sitting can impact mobility. Spending long hours in a seated position can tighten muscles in the chest, upper and lower back, leading to stiffness, poor movement patterns and increased risk of injury. But just because you have a desk job, doesn’t mean your mobility has to suffer. You may like Quadruped spinal rotations can help to loosen muscles and joints, improve range of motion and help you move more efficiently when exercising. What is a quadruped spinal rotation? A quadruped spinal rotation is a thoracic (upper and middle back) rotation performed from your hands and knees. It lengthens muscles in your chest, shoulders, upper, middle and lower back—all areas prone to tightness from sitting. This move also works your core, training it to stabilize your body during movement. Start your week with achievable workout ideas, health tips and wellbeing advice in your inbox. A robotic hand helps piano players’ fingers move faster

A robotic hand helps piano players’ fingers move faster

You’re practicing a new song on piano. One part keeps tripping you up. No matter how many times you try it, your fingers just won’t move fast enough. Then you put on a special device that looks like a robotic hand. Its motor wiggles your fingers faster than you could move them on your own. When you sit at the piano again without the robo-hand, your fingers can now hop into high gear. You’re playing the fast part that seemed impossible before. In a recent series of experiments, dozens of professional piano players had this exact experience. They improved their piano skills using a wearable robotic hand, also called an exoskeleton. Shinichi Furuya and his team shared the results January 15 in Science Robotics. “Many people are using this kind of robot for rehabilitation or virtual reality gaming,” says Furuya. “I thought maybe this is also good for music education.” Furuya is a researcher at the NeuroPiano Institute at Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc. in Tokyo, Japan. Nicholas Hatsopoulos studies sensory motor control at the …
