We’ve rounded up some interesting HomeView tidbits you might have missed. Recipe walkthroughs – HomeView makes Safari recipes easier to follow by pulling out the ingredients and steps. 23 Must-See Moments You Might Have Missed From The 2026 VMAs

23 Must-See Moments You Might Have Missed From The 2026 VMAs

Over the last five decades, the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) have become known for being one of the most chaotic and unpredictable awards shows of them all. And given that this year featured another performance from Madonna, who was also the year’s most-nominated artist, you could pretty much count on the 2026 awards ceremony giving us plenty “to talk about”. Here’s a quick round-up of everything you might have missed from Sunday night’s show… First of all, we have to shout out some of the stand-out red carpet looks, beginning with Lisa If there’s one thing Tyla knows how to do it’s serve at all times Troye Sivan paid homage to the underrated Disney icon that is the feather duster from Beauty And The Beast on the red carpet Sombr also took a bold fashion risk and whether or not it paid off is entirely up to you to decide Let’s just take a moment to celebrate this Normani look And surprise performer Adam Lambert also went all out with his VMAs ensemble Madonna opened …

Linus Torvalds just showed the right way to use AI for coding and everyone missed it

Linus Torvalds just showed the right way to use AI for coding and everyone missed it

You probably read the Linus Torvalds debugging story and the first thing that came to your mind was “even Linus now uses AI.” Well, this take may be why you miss the most important detail in his Git commit message. After a long debugging session in which an AI repeatedly determined a bug was unsolvable, the reason why he kept pushing is one of the biggest lessons in proper use of AI. It’s far more consequential than most of the AI prompt guides I’ve studied this year. Related I replaced Cursor with a free IDE that does everything Cursor does Cursor has a worthy free rival—and it’s surprisingly good. The Torvalds story everyone flattened into one sentence 24 patches, 18 reboots, one word Afam Onyimadu / MUO Linus Torvalds was only able to track down a bug in Linux’s Intel graphics driver after 24 debug patches and 18 kernel boots. On Torvalds’ Battlemage G21 system, the bug caused the display manager to repeatedly fail, leaving him with a black screen. When he found the core …

Missed Opportunities for Getting Help

Missed Opportunities for Getting Help

Life radically changed for me at age 20 due to emerging schizophrenia. I experienced delusional thinking, paranoia, and hallucinations. Before schizophrenia interrupted my life, I was a biochemistry student at the University of Southern California. My first psychotic break happened during the fall semester of my senior year when I went from a student in good standing to failing all my classes. I never told anyone, but I believed it didn’t matter because I was about to become a prophet. Looking back, I ask myself what opportunities for intervention were missed during this difficult time of my life. Family and friends One of my first symptoms of schizophrenia was paranoia of friends, family, professors I had known, and most of all, my parents. My parents would have done anything to get me to a doctor, find the best treatment for my erratic behavior, and support me in any way possible, but I was afraid of them. They would have welcomed me to live with them while I was getting back on my feet. Instead, I …

Fox News tried to dunk on the WNBA. It missed

Fox News tried to dunk on the WNBA. It missed

Every summer, conservative television hosts and influencers suddenly discover women’s professional basketball, which they insist they don’t care about, and then they spend weeks explaining why it’s one of society’s greatest ills. This year, just like last, their attempts to turn the WNBA into a proxy war for cultural grievances is failing because it’s not really about the league.  It is a content farm built using Caitlin Clark, her Indiana Fever teammate Sophie Cunningham and a nonexistent transgender player controversy to conceal old grievances about race and gender. But despite the attempts to sully the WNBA brand, the league is thriving — and the whole spectacle is now backfiring in ways even the people profiting from it can no longer hide.  The right has attacked the WNBA since at least Brittney Griner’s 2022 imprisonment in Russia. In 2025, the Onion ran a spoof headline imagining the State Department designating the league a terrorist organization. It was funny because it wasn’t that far off from how conservative media actually treats the WNBA until football arrives to distract …

Mel Giedroyc said she missed mum’s death after ‘immature’ night out

Mel Giedroyc said she missed mum’s death after ‘immature’ night out

Mel Giedroyc has opened up about missing her mum’s death in 2024 after her first night out in months. The comedian and former The Great British Bake Off host, 58, was starring in the musical Starter for 10 at Bristol’s Old Vic at the same time her mum Rosemary, 86, was ill, and would regularly dash back to Oxford to see her after performances. After a Saturday night show attended by her friends, she was convinced to stay behind at the theatre for some drinks – but had so much booze that she forgot to charge her phone, missing the call that alerted her to her mum’s deteriorating health. Mel Giedroyc opened up about missing her mum’s death on new podcast (YouTube) “I’d been to see her on the Friday, all of us together,” she recalled on Elizabeth Day’s How To Fail podcast, in which guests share their most regretful moments. “I had a show in the evening and I kissed her goodbye and told her I’d see her on Sunday.” Giedroyc explained that her …

What Hit (and Missed) at Comic-Con

What Hit (and Missed) at Comic-Con

Here’s which movies, shows, creatives and brands got the most (and least) buzz out of San Diego Comic-Con this year. Marvel. David Jonsson starring in Black Panther III as the son of King T’Challa? Great choice. Ryan Gosling joining the MCU as the new Ghost Rider? Great choice. Plus: The Avengers: Doomsday sizzle reel shown in the room was also an improvement upon the muddled and artificial-looking teaser trailer. Robert Downey Jr. assured EW the movie is “absolutely fantastic.” Page Six just reported he’s making $100 million for Doomsday and Secret Wars, so the man better say it’s fantastic. Lanterns: After dealing with some silly controversy — because now there always is — HBO showed a new trailer for its upcoming Green Lantern drama that was way better than the what fans had previously seen. If that wasn’t enough of a show of confidence, HBO also screened a whopping seven clips and the consensus is that the footage was very strong. DC also had a terrific activation with its Lanterns Training Headquarters escape room, which didn’t skimp on the immersive …

Why Autism in Girls Is So Often Missed

Why Autism in Girls Is So Often Missed

A few weeks ago, a close friend told me that she was recently diagnosed with autism. I was astonished at the news: As long as I’ve known her, she has never demonstrated any of the stereotypical characteristics of the condition, such as challenges with communication and social interactions, and restricted or repetitive physical behaviors. She assured me that the diagnosis did indeed fit with her experience, and it was incredibly useful in making sense of some of the struggles she experienced throughout her life. As a developmental psychologist, I am not a clinician, but I am a keen observer of social interactions, so I was super surprised that I was so clueless about her condition for so many years. But it turns out that recognizing autism in women and girls isn’t all that easy. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD or autism) is a neurodevelopmental condition that starts in late infancy or early childhood and persists throughout life. Clinicians used to think of autism as a rare psychological condition, with a diagnosis of about 1 out of …

The Missed Connection by Tia Williams

The Missed Connection by Tia Williams

What if your soulmate sat in the next row, you both got off the plane drunk on first-class rosé, and you forgot to ask his name? That is the high-concept hook of The Missed Connection by Tia Williams, the New York Times bestselling author behind Seven Days in June and A Love Song for Ricki Wilde. Williams takes a vintage Craigslist trope, drags it into the corporate-email age, and lets it spin out as a glittering Brooklyn-set rom-com with surprising weight underneath the gloss. Sasha Cruz is a Brooklyn casting director, a self-described inside girl who has spent the last year half-hibernating after a stalking incident in 2022. A work trip to Paris brings her face-to-face with Seat F, an Italian charmer who reads How to Not Die Alone on the plane and seems engineered in a fantasy lab. They part without exchanging names. Sasha then sends a panicked email to her HR contact, and accidentally copies the entire global Seraphina staff. Cue international chaos. Cue a manhunt. And Cue the entrance of Wesley Dane, …

Rose of Nevada review: This mesmerising Cornish time-travel film is not to be missed

Rose of Nevada review: This mesmerising Cornish time-travel film is not to be missed

Rose of NevadaMark JenkinUK cinemas now; US cinemas, 19 June Time moves strangely in lifeless places – that much is clear in Rose of Nevada, the new film from director Mark Jenkin. It’s set in a fishing village in Cornwall, UK, a place stripped of its industry and inhabitants. Amid empty pubs and abandoned moorings, the flotsam and jetsam of former prosperity, a few haunted souls remain. Even the ocean is empty. What better place to set a ghost story than a ghost town? After all, what are ghosts, if not an accident of time? There’s a good reason why this village seems to exist outside conventional chronology, it turns out. Three decades earlier, when life was good, a fishing vessel and its short-handed crew fell victim to the sea. The loss of the men pervades the village still. Nothing was ever recovered and the tragedy never abated. That is, until one day, the cherry-red Rose of Nevada reappears in the harbour. The boat couldn’t have arrived at a better time for Nick (George MacKay). …
