Shaquille O’Neal Reacts to Ex-Wife Shaunie Henderson Saying She’s Unsure She Ever Loved Him

Shaquille O’Neal has responded to his ex-wife’s declaration that she is unsure if she ever loved him. In an Instagram post Wednesday morning, the NBA superstar addressed revelations from Shaunie Henderson’s new book, including the confession that looking back on her marriage, she does not believe she ever truly was in love with the former basketball player, 52. Following the news of Henderson’s eye-catching statements, Shaq himself responded to his ex-wife’s words by posting a short message to his Instagram grid.  “I understand… I wouldn’t have been in love with me either,” the athlete and philanthropist wrote. He continued, “Wishing you all the best… ❤️. All love. Shaq.” The situation stems from a recently released excerpt from Henderson’s new book, Undefeated: Changing the Rules and Winning On My Own Terms, in which she states that she questions her love for her ex.  “Looking back, I don’t know that I was ever really in love with the man, but I was in love with the idea of being married to the man I had a family …

Infected blood scandal: Bereaved families say loved ones who died after being contaminated were being ‘used for research’ | UK News

Bereaved families who lost loved ones in the contaminated blood scandal say they have seen evidence that proves their relatives were being “used for research” without their knowledge and despite clinicians knowing the risks. Historic notes in medical records found by campaigners are said to show that some patients being treated for the blood clotting disorder haemophilia in the 1970s and 1980s were given blood plasma treatment which doctors knew might be contaminated and infect them with hepatitis. Clinicians involved in the treatment have maintained they wanted to study the links between the haemophilia treatment Factor VIII and the risk of infection. Jason Evans, director of the campaign group Factor 8, believes that instead of stopping treatment, clinicians lobbied to continue trials, even after identifying the association between hepatitis and the treatment. He has found notes alluding to the research in his own father’s medical records. Deepfakes of your dead loved ones are a booming Chinese business

Deepfakes of your dead loved ones are a booming Chinese business

In Chinese homes, it’s common to put up a portrait of a deceased relative for a few years after the death. Zhang Zewei, founder of a Shanghai-based company called Super Brain, says he and his team wanted to revamp that tradition with an “AI photo frame.” They create avatars of deceased loved ones that are pre-loaded onto an Android tablet, which looks like a photo frame when standing up. Clients can choose a moving image that speaks words drawn from an offline database or from an LLM.  “In its essence, it’s not much different from a traditional portrait, except that it’s interactive,” Zhang says. Zhang says the company has made digital replicas for over 1,000 clients since March 2023 and charges $700 to $1,400, depending on the service purchased. The company plans to release an app-only product soon, so that users can access the avatars on their phones, and could further reduce the cost to around $140. Super Brain demonstrates the app-only version with an avatar of Zhang Zewei answering his own questions.SUPER BRAIN The …

First these Army families lost their loved ones. Then the man assigned to help them took their money.

As she mourned the sudden death of her son, a 26-year-old Army sergeant felled by a heart condition, Sharon Hartz learned some surprising news: She would receive a death benefit and life insurance totaling half a million dollars. But she said the Army’s casualty assistance officer, who had helped her with the funeral arrangements, told her she first had to meet with an Army financial counselor. “[He] insisted that we be educated on the finances so they were properly handled,” she said. Sgt. Thomas F. Anastasio died because of a heart condition while on active duty. His death benefits went to his mother, Sharon Hartz.Courtesy Sharon Hartz Hartz and the officer drove to Fort Dix, where she first sat down with Caz Craffy, an Army reservist whose 9-to-5 civilian job was offering advice about money to Army families. Craffy was “very charismatic,” Hartz said. “Very, very friendly, very welcoming.” That turned out to be a façade. Craffy was a con man, who has now pleaded guilty to bilking Hartz and dozens of other Gold Star …

I Just Found Out A Hey Arnold Fact That Explains SO MUCH About Why We All Loved It

I Just Found Out A Hey Arnold Fact That Explains SO MUCH About Why We All Loved It

If you grew up in the 90s, chances are you were a Nickelodeon kid. It had it all: Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Sister Sister, The Rugrats and, of course, Hey Arnold. If you were lucky enough to have access to Nickelodeon, these shows, among many others, punctuated evenings and weekends. Catchy theme songs, relatable characters, and even hilarious villains (Helga Pataki, anyone?) but for Hey Arnold especially, there’s a reason why it resonated with us kids so much. Of course, the show was set in a suburban area, the kids featured faced the same problems as we did and the adults were as cringe and boring as the adults in our life were. What made Hey Arnold different to other Nickelodeon shows Unlike other popular animated shows at the time like The Simpsons, the children in Hey Arnold were actually voiced by children. According to Screen Rant, this meant that not only did the actors grow up together on-set, playing these roles, but that they did have to be replaced over time, too. Screen Rant …

Healing Your Life After the Loss of a Loved One

Healing Your Life After the Loss of a Loved One

How We Go On Image by Michaela / Pixabay Most of us find ourselves in survival mode after the death of a loved one. We often lapse into a state of shock to bear the pain of it all. Having not fully accepted what had happened, I could give my daughter’s eulogy. The shock began to wear off shortly afterward, and reality set in. I entered what the ancients called “the dark night of the soul,” a time of inescapably excruciating sorrow. The days, weeks, and months we spend searching for the strength to survive the loss of a beloved parent, grandparent, spouse, child, family member, or friend are as unsettling and sorrowful as anything we have ever experienced. Trying to figure out if and how we’re going to survive, we go from the surreal (“This couldn’t have really happened”) to the all-too-real (“Oh my God, it really did happen!) and try to make sense of it all. Too often in our grief-illiterate world, the people around us try to help us figure it out. …
