Harlow Collinge: Childminder Karen Foster jailed for 12 years and seven months for killing baby boy with ‘forceful shaking’ | UK News

A childminder has been jailed for 12 years and seven months for killing a nine-month-old boy by shaking him to death in frustration. Karen Foster, who was due to go on trial for the murder of nine-month-old Harlow Collinge, pleaded guilty to the charge of manslaughter last Friday after discussions with the child’s family. The basis of the 62-year-old’s plea was that “forceful shaking” of Harlow caused his death after he had toppled over out of his high chair, started crying and she shook him in frustration, Preston Crown Court heard. Mr Justice Barry Cotter said in court that Harlow was a “happy, healthy, much-loved” boy, but said Foster chose to continue childminding despite ill health and pain in her hip. He noted she worked more than she should have under Ofsted rules and said this contributed to her “loss of temper”, before adding: “You should have been a safe pair of hands to which Gemma Collinge could ensure her precious child. “I have no doubt you snapped on the 1 March 2022, in part …

New witnesses and contact info for Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal

Two new witnesses took the stand Friday after four days of testimony from former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker in former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial. Trump’s longtime assistant, Rhona Graff, told the court that his contact list included information for Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, who have both claimed they had affairs with the former president in 2006. Trump has denied their claims. Graff’s testimony was followed by Gary Farro, a bank executive who said he helped former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen set up a bank account for the shell company he used to pay Daniels. Here’s what you missed on Day 8 of the trial: Pecker cross-examined For his fourth day on the stand, Pecker faced a rapid fire cross-examination by Trump attorney Emil Bove. The defense attempted to pierce Pecker’s credibility as a witness by countering the narrative woven by prosecutors earlier in the week about an alleged scheme by Trump to influence the 2016 presidential election. A rapt jury took notes and watched as Pecker answered questions about his recollection of …

8 Fundamental Ways Being Cheated On Changes You | Karen Finn

Catching your husband or wife cheating on you changes everything about your relationship. How could it not? As Jay Kent-Ferraro, Ph.D./MBA, explains: “The psychology of infidelity is quite complex, much more than the current moralistic conversation about it where people are ‘good’, ‘bad’ or ‘flawed’, therefore dismissed as damaged goods attempts to dispel the cliché myth that ‘once a cheater always a cheater.’” If you want to fix your broken relationship and save your marriage, it is possible. The path back to a healthy relationship begins with each partner seeking to understand both the cheating spouse’s reasons for having an affair, as well as how the betrayed husband or wife has been changed forever as a result. The ways infidelity changes you depend not only on who you and your spouse were before the affair, but who you are both committed to becoming once it’s …

Trump discussed hush payment to Playboy model Karen McDougal with David Pecker, jurors hear

David Pecker, former publisher of the National Enquirer, testified Tuesday that he paid Karen McDougal — a former Playboy model who alleges she had an affair with Trump — for the rights to her story and spoke with former President Donald Trump about the risks of it coming out. Speaking at Trump’s criminal trial in Manhattan, Pecker testified he learned of the McDougal allegation in 2016 and that the then told Trump fixer Michael Cohen about it. Later, Pecker said, he received a phone call from Trump himself, asking what Pecker thought he should do. At that point, Pecker said he informed Trump that McDougal had an offer to perform on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and that he thought the Republican candidate should pay her off. Trump was hesitant at first, said Pecker, who recalled the former president saying: “Anytime you do something like this, it always comes out.” It was only when Pecker kept insisting that Trump decided to clue in his personal fixer, Michael Cohen, promising Pecker that he’d call again in …
