Up until this spring, the words “John Travolta” and “style” together would likely conjure images of his white disco suit from Saturday Night Fever, his western getup from Urban Cowboy, or his biker fit from Grease. In May, however, the Academy Award-nominated actor added another element to his sartorial oeuvre when he arrived at the premiere of his directorial debut, Propeller One-Way Night Coach, wearing a pair of wire-frame glasses and a jaunty off-white beret with his black suit. Travolta’s Cannes fit, it turns out, was not a one-off. Earlier this week, at a Ramones 50th anniversary show at LA’s Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Travolta appeared wearing a biker jacket over a Ramones tee and jeans, accessorized with a jauntily tilted crimson beret. Striding onstage alongside Linda Ramone (the widow of guitarist Johnny Ramone), Travolta was in peak form, cracking dad jokes (“I’m sorry I’m a little late, but there are so many people dying to get in here”) before introducing punk rock supergroup The Cretin Family, whose lineup includes Billie Joe Armstrong and Travis Barker. …

An influencer whose 3-year-old son drowned more than a year ago has apologized for letting her 16-month-old sit on a boat without a life jacket, telling followers it was a lapse in judgment she deeply regrets. Emilie Kiser, who announced last month that she’s pregnant again, faced intense criticism after recently posting a photo of her younger son, Teddy, on a watercraft without a life vest during a family outing. Kiser’s older son, Trigg, 3, drowned in a pool at the family’s Arizona home in May 2025, police said at the time. Authorities found the boy unconscious. Kiser’s husband, Brady Kiser, said he had been briefly distracted while watching Trigg while his wife was away. Investigators ultimately declined to file criminal charges against Brady Kiser in connection with the toddler’s death. Emilie Kiser’s social media following has made her family’s parenting choices a frequent subject of public scrutiny. “Over the course of the last year, our family has been no stranger to tragedy and how quickly life can change,” Kiser said in her Friday-evening post. …

One woman commented that she feels ashamed because her husband no longer finds her valuable. She felt that her actual value as a person had been diminished. She said that it’s “taken for granted” that being married is better than being single or divorced. After all, isn’t everyone trying to find their special person? Few people yearn to be single. All the songs, movies, books, and podcasts seem to be about locating your significant other. Being married (or in a long-term relationship) is a nearly universal life goal. One woman remembered what it was like before her husband left. After decades in epicurean exile, the humble spud has made a roaring comeback in the UK and piqued the interest of foodies across the world. A-listers, tourists and trend-hopping teenagers are queueing for hours to get their hands on them. For Jacob Nelson, who sells loaded spuds that have gone super-viral on social media, this was all part of the plan. “We thought: how can we make the jacket potato sexy again?” he says. The 30-year-old, who runs SpudBros with his brother Harley and dad Tony, was among the first crop of social-media savvy spud vendors to give the jacket potato a much-needed makeover.
