Rafael Nadal on His Iconic Pirate Pants and Life After Tennis

There’s also a good chunk of space allocated to your on -ourt style. When looking back, have you ever had a moment of “What am I wearing?!” Or did you like everything along the way? [Laughs] No, it’s impossible to like everything. We had mistakes. And I’ll tell you one thing: We worked a year and a half in advance on all the outfits. That’s something that I enjoyed. But at the same time, at the beginning of my career, let’s say the first eight to 10 years, we made decisions from pictures on the computer, you know? And it was difficult sometimes, because what you see on the computer versus what then arrived in real life could be completely different. When I had a couple of, let’s say, mistakes in making decisions, when the clothing arrived and I was not happy, I said, “Okay, to make decisions, I need to see the material and the color in real life.” So I am prouder of the things we were wearing later in my career. But, …

This Could Be Your Last Chance to Own America’s Most Iconic Denim

This Could Be Your Last Chance to Own America’s Most Iconic Denim

Few fabrics stir the passions of denim nerds like Cone White Oak selvedge—“Cone” to those in the know—the famed denim woven on antique shuttle looms at Cone Denim Mills’s former plant in Greensboro, North Carolina. Founded in 1905, the White Oak mill was the primary supplier of fabric to Levi’s, Wrangler, Lee, and countless other brands for most of the 20th century, and it was instrumental in making American blue jeans a cultural icon on par with rock music and muscle cars. After Wrangler, Levi’s, and many other brands moved production to Asia and Latin America, however, White Oak shut down its famed Draper looms and closed its doors for good in 2017. Tomorrow, Nashville-based indie denim brand Imogene + Willie will release a limited-edition run of jeans made in collaboration with western denim pioneer Wrangler. The first of three drops, the jeans are based on an archival design for Wrangler’s historic 10MWZ (which stands for Men’s With Zipper), the brand’s first “Cowboy Cut” jean released in 1964. Crafted from a midweight 14.75 oz sanforized …

But the company says that it will include all of the infrastructure and technology needed for a full arena tour, and for those shows to be recorded in broadcast quality. The venue will also be the new home of Apple Music in London, and as such includes a set of studios for its live radio broadcasts. It also comes alongside a new logo for the streaming service. Jeff Koons’s Iconic Balloon Dog Is Now a Watch

Jeff Koons’s Iconic Balloon Dog Is Now a Watch

Hublot might have the deepest Rolodex in watches. The Swiss maker works with enough icons across industries—from soccer star Kylian Mbappé and fashion designer Samuel Ross to BTS idol Jung Kook and new wave legends Depeche Mode—to throw one hell of a house party. But the brand always seems to do its best work with acclaimed visual artists like Takashi Murakami, Sang Bleu, and Richard Orlinski. And today, that knack for blending art and watches just reached its apex, thanks to the release of a new Hublot collaboration with Jeff Koons. In Koons, Hublot has found a bedfellow that’s every bit as audacious and over-the-top as they are. The duo has come together to create the Classic Fusion Balloon Dog, a new watch based on Koons’s most famous sculptures, which reimagine the child’s party favor as sleek, enormous metallic structures. The inflated-looking timepiece comes in three shiny colors: red, blue, and silver, limited to 200 pieces each. At $25,100 a pop, the watches are an absolute steal when you consider the eight-figure sums that Koons’s …

Noel Gallagher feared Oasis would destroy Johnny Marr’s iconic Smiths guitar

Oasis star Noel Gallagher remarked that The Smiths musician Johnny Marr has “always been a bit gung-ho” with his instruments as the pair browsed Marr’s collection currently on display in London. Marr, 62, is auctioning off a large portion of the guitars that featured across his award-winning career. Having risen to fame in the 1980s with rock band The Smiths, he subsequently joined The The, formed his own group, and built a successful solo career. The sale forms part of “Marr’s Guitars: The Johnny Marr Collection”, set to take place at Christie’s in London on September 17. The event includes 111 lots with valuations reaching up to £150,000. In a video released by Christie’s on Saturday, Gallagher joined the fellow musician to look over the items going under the hammer while sharing memories attached to the instruments. The two Manchester-born artists inspected a 1982 black Rickenbacker 330 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar, which Marr originally used to compose hit singles “This Charming Man” and “What Difference Does It Make”. “You’ve always been a bit gung-ho with your …

Iconic theme park ride closes forever after 32 years | World | News

An iconic theme park ride ‘like no other in the world’ has closed after 32 years. The Tidal Force ride in Hershey Park in South-Central Pennsylvania shut at the end of the summer season. The 32-year-old ride’s closure leaves a space on The Boardwalk — a water-themed area located in the park — home to the splash zone. The ride featured a 100-foot incline before a sharp splashdown. Thrillseekers would reach speeds of 50mph as they came soaring down, getting soaked en route. Hershey Park reminded visitors of the ride’s closure on Facebook earlier this week with many reminiscing their favourite memories of the attraction. One park-user said: “What an incredible ride! There is no other splashdown ride like it in the world. As young as I can remember, I remember seeing Tidal Force at the park and being amazed. “Then when I rode it the first time I was even more amazed. It was truly one of the icons of Hershey Park. What an attraction – it’ll be missed.” Another added: “I rode it …
