CASE expands compact lineup with new electric mini excavator

[ad_1] CASE CE is expanding its mini excavator lineup with the launch of four models this week, including an all-new electric model designed to delivers emissions-free performance that rivals any of its comparably-sized diesel counterparts — including its CASE-branded siblings! CASE calls the CX25EV a “highly versatile machine,” highlighting the excavator’s hydraulic flow settings and three auxiliary circuits that can be paired with a quick coupler and a variety of attachments. The mini excavator is also equipped with electrohydraulic controls that are fully customizable to the operator’s taste for speed, ramp-up speed and smoothness, while its short-radius design makes it easy to move around in tight, indoor spaces during trenching and precision demolition jobs. The belief is that the new machine will enable construction crews to take on more challenging jobs that face unique noise, emission, or vibration requirements, the CX25EV electric mini excavator, originally announced last spring as part of a broader electric equipment launch, the new machine is now in production, on sale, and on its way to customers. Customers, it’s hoped, who …

240 ton Hitachi, ABB electric haul truck is revolutionizing mining

[ad_1] With global demand for battery minerals continuing to rise, tech giants ABB, Hitachi, Komatsu, and Sumitomo are working together, developing a clever tech strategy that’s slashed emissions across Japanese mining operations. The collaboration between Hitachi Construction Machinery and ABB Traction to build a massive, fully electric 240 ton haul truck for extreme duty mining operations reached a critical stage last year, with the completion of their first prototype in February. Over the last year, Komatsu and Sumitomo have signed on as well, and the new haul trucks are doing their thing at the Kansanshi copper-gold mine in Zambia. “We are delighted to see our collaboration with Hitachi Construction Machinery reaching this crucial step,” Fabiana Cavalcante, Head of Mobile e-Power, ABB Traction, explained last year. “The project is not only helping to tackle the issues involved in dump truck electrification but is also contributing to enabling a low-carbon world through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. We look forward to seeing the prototype prove its capability in the Zambian copper-gold mine.” The deployment at Kansanshi …

CASE Impact autonomous, electric wheel loader debuts at bauma

[ad_1] CASE arrived at bauma 2025 with an innovative new electric wheel loader with a striking, sharp-edged design that ditches the traditional operator cab in favor of remote or autonomous operation for improved accessibility and safety. Yes, the new Impact is currently just a concept, but CASE New Holland (CNH) has a history of turning its concepts – or parts of them, anyway – into reality, so we have to take this latest bauma debut at least a little bit seriously. CASE says the cabin-less design of the Impact electric wheel loader enhances operational flexibility by enabling operations in extreme environments and adverse weather conditions. It also means that job site, disaster recovery, or even rescue operations can continue 24/7, with operators in different time zones logging in for their shifts. More important – and more practical – is CASE’s claim that the new Impact concept, “marks a significant advancement in accessibility, as operators with motor impairments and other disabilities can now operate the machine without physical limitations, representing an important step toward inclusivity in the industry.” Advertisement – …

Quick Charge | hydrogen hype falls flat amid very public failures

HD Hyundai set to debut production hydrogen wheeled excavator

[ad_1] HD Hyundai is set to unveil a production version of its hydrogen fuel cell powered HW155H 14-ton wheeled excavator – one of ten updated or all-new machines rumored to making their debut at this year’s Bauma construction trade show. Wheeled excavators are having something of a resurgence in the equipment space these days – and with good reason. The machines are easily deployable by municipalities, can navigate urban and suburban environments with ease, and can be fitted with a broad range of accessories to make jobs from digging to demolition to landscaping possible (and, if any of you Steelwrist guys are reading this … that thing’s cool). And it’s those same municipalities that are holding the line on emissions and environmental regulations, and more often than not the people who have to hear about it when the noise of a conventional ICE-powered job site upsets Mrs. Klancik’s terrier. HD Hyundai is leaning into the wheeled excavator rennaisance with its new HW155H, a quiet, zero-emission asset that can reportedly send between 70 and 100 kW of power …

MAN Trucks delivers first production eTGX electric semi

[ad_1] MAN Truck & Bus reached another milestone on its path towards decarbonization by delivering its first regular production Ultra Low Liner eTGX electric semi truck to international logistics service provider Duvenbeck – who plan to add over 100 more such trucks to its fleet in total. (!) Duvenbeck signed a letter of intent (LOI) to purchase 120 of the new Volkswagen Group MAN electric semi trucks back in 2023, and now the first examples of the 40-ton e-trucks have arrived at Duvenbeck’s HQ. The delivery marks the latest big step towards that company’s planned electrification. “The MAN eTruck is an important step towards emission-free logistics,” says Bernd Reining, Senior Director Procurement, Duvenbeck. “It helps us to meet our customers’ requirements and protect the environment at the same time. Sustainability is part of our everyday practice.” The requirements Duvenbeck is referring to include the MAN trucks’ 3 meter interior height – a first for a battery-electric semi truck in this category. “With the Ultra Low Liner eTruck, MAN has developed a solution that is perfectly tailored to the …

Art, Hell, and the Atlas Copco E-Air H185 electric air compressor

[ad_1] With its compact dimensions, outstanding performance, and quiet, emissions-free operation, the Atlas Copco E-Air H185 is changing the game when it comes to indoor construction and demolition projects. Now, it’s changing an altogether different game: art. Construction companies bidding on jobs in indoor or densely populated urban environments are already singing the praises of electric equipment, but the Atlas Copco E-Air H185 is now making a name for electric equipment in the art world, taking center stage in a new performance installation that marries science, robotics, and art in Prague. Dubbed “Inferno,” the project calls itself a fusion of technology and art, and features “dancers” wearing articulated mechanical exoskeletons motivated by air-powered hydraulic actuators that are fed a constant supply of compressed air from the Atlas Copco unit backstage. The result is a choreographed robotic dance, “where machine and human bodies became one.” Smooth operator E-Air H185 VSD compressor in ARCHA+ Theatre, Prague; by Atlas Copco. The unique environment of the ARCHA+ Theatre is similar to St. Jerome’s in Naples, where an all-electric Bobcat …

These 2 trucks will save some 98,000 gallons of diesel fuel annually, and avoid putting nearly 700 metric tons of carbon dioxide and other harmful emissions into California’s air each year. “We are …

Mack Electric LR is Wisconsin’s first electric garbage truck

[ad_1] In a bid to clean up its streets in more ways than one, the city of Madison, Wisconsin has added two Class 8 electric trucks to its garbage fleet earlier this year in the form of a pair of Mack Electric LR HDEVs … and the city already has plans to add two more. In 2017, the city of Madison became the 25th North American city to set a zero-net carbon goal for for city operations by 2030 and the city as-a-whole by 2050. To that end, the city has begun electrifying its heavy truck and equipment fleet with the deployment of two Mack Electric LR HDEVs – reportedly the first two Class 8 BEVs to deployed in America’s dairy land. “One of the reasons we’re going all-in on electrification is because it’s better for the environment,” explains Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway. “These refuse trucks hit every single block in the city of Madison. That is a lot of diesel fumes in our neighborhoods. If we can take even one diesel truck off of the streets …
