Celine Dion Shares Why She Kept Her Coat On At The Grammys

Celine Dion Shares Why She Kept Her Coat On At The Grammys

In a Life In Looks video interview to accompany Vogue France’s May issue, the French-Canadian chanteuse described her surprise appearance as “very nerve-wracking, but at the same time, a big honour,” and later gushed about the “magic” and “excitement” of returning to show business once more. And as it turns out, the much-discussed mustard yellow Valentino coat she wore over her pale-pink gown served a very specific, and emotional, purpose. “I was like, ‘I can walk onstage with a coat?’ Oh, yeah! You can do whatever you want in fashion. Have a good time, wear that coat, own that coat, go for it,” Celine explained. “And it made me feel better for a moment to hold onto this coat, to hide myself a little bit from all these little things.” She then broke into a song with a few impromptu lines from her 2019 single Imperfections, which appeared on her most recent album, Courage. Beyoncé Knocks Grammys Snubs In Not-So-Subtle ‘Cowboy Carter’ Dig

Beyoncé Knocks Grammys Snubs In Not-So-Subtle ‘Cowboy Carter’ Dig

Beyoncé took a jab at the Grammy Awards for snubbing her several times in the Album of the Year category in a song off her new album Cowboy Carter. The music icon addressed the controversy on her track SWEET ★ HONEY ★ BUCKIIN’ after four of her albums — most recently Renaissance — have received nominations and taken home zero wins in the category. “A-O-T-Y, I ain’t win, I ain’t stuntin’ ’bout them, take that shit on the chin, come back and fuck up the pen,” she said on the track. Bey is the most awarded artist in the show’s history, with 32 Grammys to her name. Her latest Album of the Year loss in February arrived on the same night that her husband Jay-Z slammed the award show for consistently snubbing his wife. “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year,” said the Brooklyn rap legend during an acceptance speech for the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. “So, even by …

All my heroes have been in handcuffs”: Killer Mike talks Grammys arrest on “The View

Progressive activist and rapper Killer Mike won three Grammys including rap album of the year last week but was taken away backstage during the ceremony in handcuffs, arrested and booked for a misdemeanor. On Monday’s episode of “The View,” host Sunny Hostin told the rapper that there were other headlines outside of his wins that night. “I was very upset about it because it was unnecessary and you don’t do that on that on that special night,” Hostin said. Hostin asked the rapper, whose real name is Michael Renner, even though it is an ongoing legal matter, what he could share about what happened that evening. Killer Mike described the evening and the incident that led to his arrest and being held at the Los Angeles Police Department for hours. “Backstage was overcrowded. The winners were exuberant, and I think security got a little overzealous,” he said. He continued, “It’s water under the bridge for me. I’d like to say all of my heroes have been in handcuffs – Malcolm [X], Martin [Luther King Jr.], …

Luke Combs on Tracy Chapman Grammys Performance

Luke Combs took a moment to reflect on his Grammys week, including his already-iconic performance of “Fast Car” with Tracy Chapman. Combs and Chapman, who broke out in the late ’80s and doesn’t often make public appearances, broke the internet on music’s biggest night with a performance of her song that he covered and received a Grammy nomination for. The country singer posted a carousel of images of his time in Los Angeles, which featured photos of him with Chapman, his wife, Ed Sheeran and even Taylor Swift. The lengthy caption noted he had so many laughs, tears, hugs and cheers throughout the week. Lana Del Rey Shares How She Was Really Feeling On Grammys Night

Lana Del Rey has set the record straight about how she was really feeling at this year’s Grammys. Despite critical acclaim and a string of number one albums to her name, the singer-songwriter has still not been awarded with a Grammy win, despite going into this year’s ceremony with five nominations for her latest Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. On Sunday night, Lana wound up going empty-handed, with many fans commenting that the Video Games looked a little upset towards the end of the night. This conversation was then exacerbated later in the week, when she posted a selfie in which she was seen posing with what looked like a handgun. Responding to one fan account on Instagram about her night at the Grammys, Lana insisted: “I literally just loved being there. I love to see everyone, get the tea and hang out [and] get dressed up.” She added: “I literally did not feel one ounce of negative emotion at any point in that award ceremony. It was pure funniness …

After Winning Big at the Grammys, Boygenius Is Logging Off

“I made the decision three years ago to take a massive step back. I think we all want a little break,” says Bridgers. “I can’t function if I do anything in 2024 that is public. The boys have been my biggest supporters in that. I’m excited to see you guys at [dinner] tonight.” As for the unfollowing, turns out they were both engaging in some social media housekeeping with plans to log off for the time being. “It’s not supposed to initiate a countdown or anything,” says Dacus. “I can’t feel my life right now, and I’m working to be able to, and the internet doesn’t help,” admits Bridgers. Nodding, Baker types, “Healthy.” Having spent a year performing and doing press, Boygenius are understandably relieved to be winding down. They want to revel in silence and finally make plans to watch Paddington 2, they say. But before they sign off they have one more thing to add, that didn’t make it into their acceptance speeches on Sunday, which Bridgers tees up for Dacus. “Throughout this …
