On the Monday morning (January 6) following the ceremony, Glaser appeared on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show to discuss her set. After receiving some pushback on social media for a joke about Diddy, Glaser revealed she cut a second reference to Diddy: “This is the last time all of you will be the same room together until the Diddy trial.” The comedian explained that she felt the joke she kept in about Diddy worked better, and also that it would be risky to accuse “people in the room of being involved in that… they might turn on you.” Another joke cut was about the Vatican thriller Conclave: “It’s about the choosing a …

The 2025 winners were all over the map, portending a wide-open awards season. First: Get some memorable speeches out of a bunch of celebrities packed into a ballroom and plied with booze on national television. Second: Give some insight into who’s favored to win at the more prestigious Academy Awards. For better and worse, this year’s Globes didn’t really bother to do either. Save for Kieran Culkin, none of the winners seemed too buzzed to speak. Meanwhile, the nebulous Hollywood Foreign Press Association of old has been revamped and reformed with a new, broader group that has far more eclectic taste. The 2025 winners were all over the map, clarifying only that a wide-open awards season lies ahead. By comparison, last year’s Oscar race was settled six months before the ceremony, as it just so happened that Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was both one of the year’s most acclaimed and highest-grossing movies. …

As usual, the 2025 Golden Globe nominations are filled with both expected names and ones that came out of left field—typical for the Globes, a show that now seems to be stabilizing again after several uncommonly rocky years. As revealed in December by announcers Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut, Jacques Audiard’s unconventional musical Emilia Pérez leads this year’s nominations with 10 total. This is the most Globe nominations that any musical or comedy has ever received, a haul that gave the Netflix film a welcome burst of momentum after it was snubbed by precursor ceremonies like the New York Film Critics Circle Awards and the Gotham Awards. Brady Corbet’s architecture epic The Brutalist is next in line with seven total nominations, reestablishing the project as an awards favorite after it was surprisingly undernominated by the Independent Spirit Awards. Next on the list is Edward Berger’s papal drama Conclave, which got six nominations, and Anora and The Substance, topping out at five nominations each. Just a few years ago, nominees for and winners of Golden Globe Awards were determined by fewer than 100 people, all of whom were based in the Los Angeles area. But in the aftermath of the 2023 sale of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and the establishment of the Golden Globes organization in its place, there are now some 300 Globes voters based all around the world, which has made it much harder for film and television companies to screen awards-hopefuls for all of them. Until now. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that on Tuesday, the Globes will be launching an official streaming platform — compatible with all major digital media providers including AppleTV, iOS, Roku and Amazon Fire — through which film and television companies will be able to make their content available directly to Globes voters in their homes. This model is not unlike the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Academy Screening Room portal, but is being facilitated by Indee, which also facilitates streaming for members of the Producers Guild of America …
