11 actors who regretted famous movie roles

11 actors who regretted famous movie roles

“What are your biggest regrets?” This might be one of the more obvious questions a journalist can ask an actor, but the answer can often be hugely revealing. Just because an actor starred in an acclaimed film doesn’t necessarily mean they reflect upon it positively. The most recent stars to call out the quality of their own film are Ryan Reynolds and Dakota Johnson. While promoting 2024 blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine, Reynolds repeatedly hit out at his 2011 supehero film The Green Lantern, while Johnson shared some damning comments about her very own superhero flop: Madame Web. Still, it might be better to regret starring in a film than not having had the chance in the first place, as was experienced by Scarlett Johansson in 2013. Here are 11 actors who have expressed regret over playing roles in certain films. Timothée Chalamet – A Rainy Day in New York (2019) Timothée Chalamet is one of a few actors to have expressed regret working with Woody Allen as historic allegations made against the director, by his adoptive …

Burger King bringing changes to its famous Whopper

Burger King bringing changes to its famous Whopper

Burger King is making some major changes to its signature Whopper to offer customers a higher-quality meal. The changes to the burger, marking the first ones Burger King has made to the iconic product in 10 years, were inspired by guest feedback, according to a Thursday press release from the brand. The adjustments aim to offer a “higher-quality Whopper experience,” which includes a “more premium, better tasting bun.” The presentation of the meal is also changing, with the Whopper being served in a box instead of being wrapped in paper. The box will ensure the burger “makes it to guests exactly the way it left the kitchen.” Customers can expect the taste of the Whopper to be different, thanks to an update to its toppings. The burger comes “stacked tall with freshly cut onions and tomatoes, crisp lettuce, tangy pickles” — all of which were already in it. However, Whoopers will now have “a better tasting mayo.” open image in gallery Burger King is making changes to the Whopper to give customers a ‘high-quality experience’ …

Jimmy’s Famous Seafood Goes Viral Again, Tells Local Paper To “Go F**k Yourself”

Update (Thursday): The mom-and-pop, immigrant-owned Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in Baltimore, Maryland, went viral earlier this week after telling the left-leaning HuffPost on X to “go f**k yourself” over its controversial anti-American story following Team USA’s historic hockey win. Go fuck yourself — Jimmy’s Famous Seafood (@JimmysSeafood) February 22, 2026 Now Jimmy’s Famous Seafood is at it again, telling local paper The Baltimore Sun on X to “go f**k yourself.” This time, what prompted Jimmy’s Famous Seafood’s X account was a “reader commentary” post from the outlet on X that said: “Our Olympians deserve support, but Jimmy’s Famous Seafood’s profane way of coming to their defense shouldn’t be celebrated.” It is worth noting that The Sun is traditionally a left-leaning paper, but it recently came under new ownership by David Smith, a right-leaning executive chairman of Sinclair Broadcast Group, taking over. Seven hours after Jimmy’s Famous Seafood’s X post, it had garnered 79,000 likes and had been viewed more than 1.3 million times. God remains dead. And we have killed him” is one of Friedrich Nietzsche’s most provocative claims. He wrote it in the book Thus Spoke Zarathustra, which is an eccentric and difficult work.   Nietzsche intended the quote to offer an assessment of the changes going on in European society at the time. Can we genetically improve humans using George Church’s famous list?

Can we genetically improve humans using George Church’s famous list?

“Why should only the tall have access to tall genes? And why should only the smart have access to smart genes?… our goal is to give as many people as possible the opportunity to choose their genes for themselves (and their descendants) rather than simply accept inherited genetic inequality. Because genetics shouldn’t be a lottery.” That’s the pitch of Bootstrap Bio, a start-up openly aiming to one day offer would-be parents the chance to genetically enhance their children. I’d say the children of anyone who could afford such a service will have already won life’s lottery, but the more immediate question is: could we really genetically enhance our children if we wanted to? To get a sense of what might be possible, I started with the list of “protective and enhancing” gene variants maintained by biologist George Church at Harvard University. When I asked Church what the list is for, he told me he started it as an answer to questions that came up while giving lectures, ranging from whether all rare gene variants are …

Young Sherlock star Hero Fiennes Tiffin admits he wouldn’t have been an actor without his famous family

Young Sherlock star Hero Fiennes Tiffin admits he wouldn’t have been an actor without his famous family

Hero Fiennes Tiffin, the nephew of acclaimed stars Ralph and Joseph Fiennes, has offered a refreshing take on being a nepo baby – admitting he would never have been an actor “if it wasn’t for my family being in the industry”. The 28-year-old is set to star as the titular character in Guy Ritchie’s Prime Video series Young Sherlock and openly admits his famous family has given him an advantage in the entertainment world. One of Fiennes Tiffin’s first roles was in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, in which he played a young Tom Riddle, while Ralph Fiennes starred as Lord Voldemort. His parents are also in the film world; his mother is director Martha Fiennes and his father is cinematographer George Tiffin. Addressing the “nepo baby” label, Fiennes Tiffin told Tatler: “I don’t feel any sense of it getting my back up. I think it’s so fair.” “I would never be an actor if it wasn’t for my family being in the industry and I’m extremely lucky that they were, and nepotism is …

the famous rule of computing has reached the end of the road, so what comes next?

the famous rule of computing has reached the end of the road, so what comes next?

For half a century, computing advanced in a reassuring, predictable way. Transistors – devices used to switch electrical signals on a computer chip – became smaller. Consequently, computer chips became faster, and society quietly assimilated the gains almost without noticing. These faster chips enable greater computing power by allowing devices to perform tasks more efficiently. As a result, we saw scientific simulations improving, weather forecasts becoming more accurate, graphics more realistic, and later, machine learning systems being developed and flourishing. It looked as if computing power itself obeyed a natural law. This phenomenon became known as Moore’s Law, after the businessman and scientist Gordon Moore. Moore’s Law summarised the empirical observation that the number of transistors on a chip approximately doubled every couple of years. This also allows the size of devices to shrink, so it drives miniaturisation. That sense of certainty and predictability has now gone, and not because innovation has stopped, but because the physical assumptions that once underpinned it no longer hold. So what replaces the old model of automatic speed increases? …

Camberwick Green turns 60 – we go inside its famous musical box

Camberwick Green turns 60 – we go inside its famous musical box

In January 1966, children were first introduced to a green and pleasant corner of England where troubles were never serious ones – maybe the sails of Colley’s Mill stopped turning, Tripp’s Dairy ran out of milk or the soldiers of Pippin Fort were left minding Mrs Honeyman’s baby – but they captured young hearts and minds. Just 13 episodes of Camberwick Green were made, but the show’s afterlife, via repeats and in popular culture, means we still talk about it today. It was the creation of puppeteer Gordon Murray and animated by Bob Bura and John Hardwick. But a major key to its longevity is its happy, colourful soundtrack, from the musical-box introduction to all the individual character themes… “One person said he thought the music was like little opera pieces,” John Phillips, son of the composer Freddie, tells RT. “At the end of the day he was an absolutely brilliant classical guitarist and composer.” Peter Hazel the postman, the first character to rise from the musical box, and right, how Camberwick Green was introduced …

Monday Microsofty 58: Is a Famous Bassist His Own Grandfather?

Monday Microsofty 58: Is a Famous Bassist His Own Grandfather?

Are you sharp enough to code for a top software company? Our Monday puzzles are based on the types of questions they are known to ask, hence the name of the series. Some of these questions include topics like “relativity.” It’s not math, exactly, but you need to be able to figure out relationships. Because last week’s Micro Softy was also about figuring out relationships, we will depart from our usual practice by presenting its solution before we ask this week’s question: Solution to Micro Softy 57: My Mother’s Mother-in-law     My boss, Ms. Sterno, asked me the identity of a man named Ben, whom I was just talking to. I told her “Ben is a valued friend and source of information. His mother is my mother’s mother-in-law.”  So who is Ben in relation to me? Take a look at  Figure 2: Ben is my father. His mother is my mother’s mother-in-law.   Or, with the same logic, instead of Ben, it could be one of Ben’s brothers I was talking to. In other words, one …
