Tip Toe soundtrack: Every song featured – and famous composer revealed

Russell T Davies has returned with another powerful drama, which brings him back to the lively backdrop of Canal Street for a very different story to his legendary Queer as Folk. Tip Toe explores how attitudes towards LGBTQ+ people are becoming more hostile and dangerous, after a period of perceived progress in a positive direction. The story unfolds from the perspectives of gay club owner Leo (Alan Cumming) and his next-door neighbour Clive (David Morrissey), as more than a decade of peaceful co-existence crashes down in the space of a week. With Manchester’s much-loved gay quarter being one key location, viewers can expect to hear a number of well-known tracks in the series – but Tip Toe is also notable for its distinctive and unsettling original score. Davies reunited with a past musical collaborator for his latest work, and their partnership remains dynamic as ever. Read on for everything you need to know about the Tip Toe score and songs featured in the soundtrack. Who composed the Tip Toe original score? Want to see this …

Chili’s is bringing back its famous ‘Baby Back Ribs’ jingle with help from pop star

Chili’s is bringing back its famous ‘Baby Back Ribs’ jingle with help from pop star

“It’s about d**n time” the Baby Back Ribs jingle made its comeback. Pop superstar Lizzo is on board to help Chili’s revive its iconic “Baby Back Ribs” song, reimagining the decades-old tune in a new marketing campaign launched Wednesday. The original “I want my baby back, baby back, baby back ribs” jingle debuted in the late 1990s and quickly became one of the most recognizable restaurant ads of its era, cementing itself in pop culture through movies, TV shows and countless parodies over the years. Lizzo recorded both an a cappella version of the jingle and what Chili’s calls a “Lizzo-fied” remix for the collaboration, blending the familiar chorus with new rap verses and her own spin on what “baby back, baby back” can mean. One commercial features the classically trained flutist joking that she refused to sing the famous tune until she heard how much Chili’s was willing to pay her. She then breaks into a flute solo using a novelty rib-shaped flute. Lizzo plays a rib-like flute in a new commercial reviving Chili’s …

The “Illegal” singer, real name Victoria Walker, revealed at a concert in Manchester that she had made it to the last stage of applications to take part in the game show but was stopped before filming after producers realised who she was. “It’s is my favourite trivia show, and I wanted to be on the show,” the 25-year-old told the audience. Then someone comes in, and he goes, ‘wait, hold on – we know who you are.” Having signed up for the civilian version of the show, producers told her that she was “too famous” to take part. “I said, ‘babes, let me be on this TV …

Will a Viral Podcast Unravel Our Most Famous Mentalist?

Will a Viral Podcast Unravel Our Most Famous Mentalist?

For years, Oz Pearlman — better known as Oz the Mentalist — has been inescapable. He has appeared everywhere: March Madness coverage, HBO’s Hard Knocks, Joe Rogan’s podcast, and most recently the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where he was slated to perform for President Trump. (Pearlman was mere moments into his set when gunshots in a nearby hallway evacuated the dinner; the suspected shooter was charged with the attempted assassination of a President.) Pearlman, an America’s Got Talent alum (he came in third place in 2015) is the most televised mentalist in the world and the most followed one on social media. His act — guessing names, PINs, memories, and private details seemingly extracted from thin air — has made him a fixture on talk shows, around locker rooms, and in celebrity culture. Now that act is under serious scrutiny. Last week on Pablo Torre Finds Out, the Pulitzer Prize-winning ESPN alum Pablo Torre found out how Pearlman pulls off his most shocking tricks. Stevie Baskin’s findings are a real bummer for anyone who still believes in …

JMW Turner’s Most Famous Self-Portrait Might Not Actually Depict the Artist At All

JMW Turner’s Most Famous Self-Portrait Might Not Actually Depict the Artist At All

One of J.M.W. Turner’s most self-portraits, which appears on the £20 note, may not be by the artist at all. Art historian James Hamilton, who has written widely on Turner, curated exhibitions on the artist, and authored the 1997 biography Turner—A Life, told the Guardian this week that he believes the painting has been misattributed to Turner. While the painting, dated to ca. 1799, does depict the English Romantic painter, he said, he believes it to have been painted by John Opie. Source link

Richard Bacon asks celebs why they’re more famous than him: best podcasts of the week

Pick of the week Why Are You More Successful Than Me? Make sure you’re sitting down for this. Richard Bacon’s new show manages to be that rarest of things: a video podcast that’s just as good to listen to as it is to watch. This is a celebrity interview series that is, disappointingly, not quite as confrontational as the title suggests. Instead, it’s a welcoming chat which sees the presenter sit down with the likes of Elizabeth Day, Gary Lineker and Dexter Fletcher to talk through how they made it so big. Why Should We Imagine Sisyphus Happy? Explaining Camus’ Famous Quote

Why Should We Imagine Sisyphus Happy? Explaining Camus’ Famous Quote

Published: Apr 25, 2026written by Simon Lea, PhD Philosophy Summary Sisyphus finds happiness during his descent down the mountain, a reflective period where his time and mind are his own. Camus uses myth to express truths about human dignity and the condition of life that logic alone cannot capture. True happiness stems from the ability to create meaning within an existence that lacks any inherent or imposed purpose. Camus’s unique version of the myth emphasizes personal reflection over the physical pain and frustration of eternal, meaningless punishment. Show more   Albert Camus ends The Myth of Sisyphus with: “One must imagine Sisyphus happy.” This line confuses many readers of Camus’s text. Within the secondary literature we find scholars questioning how it is possible to imagine as happy this tragic figure, condemned to an eternal and meaningless punishment. The confusion arises from taking the final section of Camus’s essay as an allegory. In fact, Camus is offering a myth. When we treat myth as myth we can begin to imagine Sisyphus happy.   Camus’ The Myth …

Psychology textbooks still misrepresent famous experiments and controversial debates

Psychology textbooks still misrepresent famous experiments and controversial debates

A recent study published in The Journal of General Psychology suggests that many introductory psychology textbooks continue to misrepresent scientific findings and repeat long-standing myths. While there have been modest improvements over the past few years, the research provides evidence that textbooks still struggle to accurately present controversial topics and historical events. This ongoing issue means that college students may be learning an oversimplified or biased version of psychological science. In recent years, scientists have noticed a troubling trend in how psychology is taught to college freshmen. Many textbooks repeat scientific urban legends, which are famous but factually incorrect stories used to illustrate scientific concepts. Textbooks also tend to exaggerate the level of agreement among scientists on controversial issues, often leaning toward politically progressive viewpoints. Researchers Jeffrey M. Brown of Texas A&M International University and Christopher J. Ferguson of Stetson University wanted to track whether these known problems were being fixed. They sought to evaluate if publishers had updated their materials to reflect the most accurate scientific evidence. “I was chatting with my co-author, and …

Famous Welsh hotel demolished after fire reborn after ‘blood, sweat and tears’

A popular hotel that was demolished after being severely damaged in a devastating fire earlier last summer has announced it is ready to reopen. The Worm’s Head Hotel, located in the Gower Peninsula, collapsed after an overnight fire on July 14, 2025. The hotel, known for its breathtaking views of the iconic Rhossili Bay and the famous Worm’s Head, has long been a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike. The family-owned hotel was left heartbroken after the blaze, which was later determined to be accidental by the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service. Following the fire, the hotel’s owner vowed to “raise it from the ashes,” as an outpouring of support from the community and past guests flooded in. The team behind The Worm’s Head have done just that – announcing they are ready to open less than a year after the devastating fire. The hotel will reopen on Saturday, April 11, after “much blood, sweat, and tears”, the owners said in a Facebook post. Never miss a Swansea story by signing …
