EU delays Tesla ‘Full Self-Driving’ vote to December at the earliest

The EU won’t vote on Tesla’s “Full Self-Driving (Supervised)” on October 6. The draft agenda for the Technical Committee on Motor Vehicles (TCMV) meeting lists only a 25-minute “continuation of discussions” on the Dutch request to extend its FSD approval EU-wide. The committee doesn’t meet again until December, so that’s now the earliest a Tesla FSD EU vote can happen. And Tesla had been pointing to October 6. What the agenda shows The European Commission’s DG GROW published the draft agenda for the 119th TCMV meeting, dated September 11. The meeting runs from 10:00 to 15:00 in Brussels. Item 3 reads: “Continuation of discussions on request of the Netherlands for an Art. 39 authorisation.” It’s slotted from 11:45 to 12:10, right before lunch. Tesla isn’t named, and no vote is listed. The Clicks Communicator Ships in December With More RAM and New Mobile Service

The Clicks Communicator Ships in December With More RAM and New Mobile Service

At a time when nearly every phone-maker is raising prices and cutting memory, one company is bucking the trend by adding more RAM. The $649 Blackberry-inspired Clicks Communicator phone will launch in December, but the company behind it just announced that the unreleased handset will have a larger battery and more RAM than originally expected. Clicks Technology, better known for its keyboard cases and Power Keyboard accessory, released a video on Friday sharing a number of upgrades, feature details and news about the launch. The Clicks Communicator will ship with 12GB of RAM (up from the promised 8GB) and a 4,350-mAh battery (up from 4,000 mAh). Given this year’s trends, it is absolutely wild that the company is adding more RAM while keeping the previously announced preorder price of $499. Google, Motorola, Samsung and, most recently, Apple, have raised prices on most of their phones, including the new iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, citing higher RAM and component costs driven by the increased demand for memory by AI data centers. Clicks Technology announced …

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert to Retire in December After Transformative and Tumultuous Tenure

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert to Retire in December After Transformative and Tumultuous Tenure

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert is retiring at the end the year, bringing to a close her seven-plus years at the helm of the league and a stewardship that has been transformative and at times tumultuous. Engelbert is the second-longest tenured WNBA president or commissioner, and she helped negotiate a lucrative collective bargaining agreement this past spring that resulted in the league’s first set of million-dollar player salaries. That growth has been accompanied by a series of headline-grabbing distractions for the league under her leadership, especially in the last year. She had a strained relationship with the players during the contract negotiations, and the 2026 season has been dominated by controversies surrounding officiating and the transgender debate along with a large amounts of social media backlash against WNBA participants. Engelbert told The Associated Press that the decision to leave was solely her own and that she did not feel any pressure to step down from NBA or WNBA stakeholders before Friday’s announcement. She insists she has a good relationship with players. While talks between the commissioner …

Folic acid will be added to UK flour from December. Here’s why

Get the Well Enough newsletter with Harry Bullmore for tips on living a healthier, happier and longer life Get the Well Enough email with Harry Bullmore Get the Well Enough email with Harry Bullmore Fewer than one in five women in England now take folic acid before pregnancy. This is down from one in four just five years ago. The decline is worrying because it could undermine the progress that has been made in recent years to prevent serious birth defects linked to low folic acid intake. Although the UK government has mandated that from December 2026 all non-wholemeal wheat flour must be fortified with folic acid, the amount being added isn’t enough to stop the ongoing need for folic acid supplements. As such, all women planning to become pregnant should still take a folic acid supplement daily when trying to get pregnant and during their first trimester. Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate (also known as vitamin B9). It helps cells grow and divide. In early pregnancy, folic acid supports the development …

Lacy Hunt: Fed’s Been “Stealth-Easing” Since December

Lacy Hunt: Fed’s Been “Stealth-Easing” Since December

“We’re seeing a major secular shift, that we’re now moving into a period of capital shortage, as well as we’re witnessing the end of the three-decade period of globalization, which led to significant disinflation.” That prediction comes from Dr. Lacy Hunt, once one of the bond market’s most prominent bulls and secular disinflationists. Well… no longer. He’s now a seller of U.S. long-dated bonds and suggested during last night’s discussion on ZeroHedge that he’s eyeing gold favorably. Lacy told Thoughtful Money’s Adam Taggart and Brent Johnson of Santiago Capital that inflation is here to stay so get used to it and plan accordingly: “There will be intermittent episodes when the secular forces will fade, but the big picture is considerably different. We’re going to have higher inflation. We’re going to have greater volatility in inflation. The trend in interest rate is going to be higher. And we’re going to have generally poor economic performance.” Here were the highlights of Lacy’s tour de force, but we highly recommend the full 75-minute discussion in its entirety: Net …

BRUSSELS, July 31 : The European Commission said on Friday that it has charged Chinese online retailer Temu for not cooperating properly during a raid on its European headquarters in Dublin in December as part of an investigation into whether the company benefited from distorting foreign subsidies. “The Commission preliminarily finds that Temu has infringed its duty to actively cooperate on multiple aspects related to the conduct of the inspection,” the Commission said in a statement.
