The Coolest Thing I Saw at IFA 2026: The Coolest, Quietest, Thinnest Laptop Concept

The Coolest Thing I Saw at IFA 2026: The Coolest, Quietest, Thinnest Laptop Concept

Some concepts on display at trade shows are simply bald attempts at garnering attention on a noisy and crowded show floor. And then there are others that provide actual glimpses into the future. Lenovo’s Project Aero falls into the latter category. (I’d put all of its rollable display concepts into the former: fun to see in action, but not something I’d look for in my next purchase.) There wasn’t much to the ThinkBook laptop used for Lenovo’s Project AeroBlade concept that would get you to stop and take notice. Other than being thinner and lighter than the typical laptop, it looked like a run-of-the-mill business ultraportable. And the Project AeroBlade demo wasn’t particularly compelling on the surface. The laptop’s screen didn’t magically expand at the press of a button to draw oohs and aahs. But under the hood, there was some tech that I hope moves from concept to reality before I need to buy my next laptop. Active cooling without fans (and their noise) The concept of Project AeroBlade is moving air in and out of …

The Unlived Life: Jung’s Most Haunting Concept

The Unlived Life: Jung’s Most Haunting Concept

There is a particular kind of emptiness that arrives not in failure but in success. You worked toward something for years—perhaps a career, a relationship, a version of yourself that would finally feel like enough—and then you got there. In the silence that followed, something unexpected surfaced—not gratitude nor relief, but a quiet and unsettling question. Is this actually my life? If you have ever felt that, you have already encountered what Jung spent a lifetime trying to name. He had a phrase for it that I have never been able to improve upon: the unlived life. It is one of the most important psychological concepts of the 20th century, and despite its clinical relevance, the unlived life remains surprisingly underrepresented in many contemporary psychotherapy or health care settings. The Unlived Life Jung used the concept of the unlived life to describe the aspects of personality that never got to fully develop; the paths not taken, the deeper parts of ourselves left uninhabited, and the desires set aside in service of adaptation, survival, or to …

I tried Lenovo’s modular ThinkBook laptop, and it’s a concept I’d actually root for

I tried Lenovo’s modular ThinkBook laptop, and it’s a concept I’d actually root for

Follow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google. ZDNET’s key takeaways Lenovo unveiled a modular proof of concept ThinkBook at Mobile World Congress 2026.  It features a detachable dual screen and keyboard, and swappable ports.  While it’s still in development, it feels like Lenovo is close to a completed product.  Lenovo has been flexing some serious conceptual muscle with its proof of concept PCs. Last year, I tested the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 rollable and found it’s 17-inch rollable screen surprisingly practical — if not perfectly polished. Also: Best of MWC 2026: We found the biggest news from Lenovo, Xiaomi, Honor, more Now at Mobile World Congress, Lenovo just unveiled a concept that’s even more ambitious: the ThinkBook Modular AI PC, a dual-screen laptop with a detachable display, keyboard, and mix-and-match I/O ports for a fully customizable workstation that shapeshifts into a number of configurations. Lenovo has been inching toward a truly modular laptop over the last few years, but this model might be the most serious commitment to the idea yet with a mainstream 14-inch …

How to View the Concept of Shaming

How to View the Concept of Shaming

If you feel shame, recognize that no one else can shame you; only you can make yourself feel ashamed. Only you have the power to create your emotions—positive, negative, helpful, or unhelpful. The Stoics Hundreds of years ago, the Greek and Roman Stoics advanced that insight. In his treatise the Enchiridion, Epictetus wrote: Men are disturbed not by the things that happen but by their opinions about those things. In his Epistles, Seneca stated: Everything depends on opinion. Ambition, luxury, greed, all look back to opinion. Cicero, Montaigne, Schopenhauer, Shakespeare, and many others throughout history have all echoed similar sentiments. If, for example, you experience an emotion when someone insults you, it’s natural to assume that the opinion and judgment of others can make you feel a certain way. In fact, this is false. Should someone insult, mock, ridicule, or disparage you on social media, for example, for saying something they disagreed with or claimed was uninformed, like, “you are ignorant,” keep in mind it’s just their judgment, their opinion. And their opinion cannot change …

Motorola’s Rollable Concept Phone Wraps on Your Wrist – Video

Feb 25, 2024 Foldable Phones Speaker 1: A phone that you can wear on your wrist. The future I wanted is finally here. Speaker 1: We’ve seen plenty of folding phones before, including Motorola’s own razor phone, but the adaptive display concept takes that even further when flat. It functions just like any other Android phone. But when you’re done with your Instagramming or emailing or other nonsense, then you can simply curve it around your wrist and wear it like [00:00:30] a bracelet. Magnetic strap keeps it in place. The idea is to let your phone function more like a smart watch, letting you see incoming notifications, and then take it off to use as a phone when you need that full screen experience. It presumably also frees up your pocket space for suites, but that bend. This also allows the phone to act as its own stand so you can place it on a desk and use the front facing camera for video calls or for embarrassing selfies. Motorola has a good history …
