Although the star is best known for his comedic roles in shows including Fleabag and Outnumbered, Hugh Dennis is taking on a seriously dark role in the upcoming second season of The Couple Next Door – and we’re already so invested! Filming on Channel 4‘s new crime thriller In Flight, starring Katherine Kelly, is underway. The new six-part series follows Kelly (Mr Bates vs the Post Office, The Long Shadow) as Jo, a flight attendant who finds her life turned upside down when she is blackmailed into drug smuggling when her son is arrested. Co-created by Mike Walden (Marcella, Whitstable Pearl) and Adam Randall (Slow Horses, iBoy), and directed by Chris Baugh (Wreck, Tin Star), the show will also star Stuart Martin, Ashley Thomas, Bronagh Waugh, Harry Cadby, Corinna Brown and Ambreen Razia. Four migrants, including a two-year-old child, died in two separate tragedies overnight Friday, October 4, to Saturday, October 5, while attempting to cross the Channel, French authorities said. The body of a two-year-old child was found in a boat, while three adult migrants died while seeking to reach British shores in another boat, regional prefect Jacques Billant said on Saturday. In the morning, an “overloaded” dinghy, carrying around 90 people and suffering engine failure, requested assistance. Fourteen people aboard the dinghy were recovered by a vessel, including a 2-year-old child who was found unresponsive, Billant announced on Saturday afternoon. According to the Boulogne-sur-Mer public prosecutor, Guirec Le Bras, preliminary evidence suggests that the child was “crushed” to death in the dinghy. An injured teenager was hospitalized in Boulogne. The other passengers continued on to the UK. After a two-week channel blackout, Disney and DirecTV have a deal in principle. The deal comes in time for college football games set to run on ESPN Saturday, as well as Sunday night’s Emmy Awards and Monday Night Football the following day. The agreed-upon points include the opportunity to offer DirecTV customers genre-specific bundles, sports, entertainment, kids and family, which also incorporate Disney’s linear networks, as well as Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+. DirecTV will also have the right to distribute Disney’s upcoming ESPN flagship streaming service to its customers for free upon launch. Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ will be included in select DirecTV packages and made available individually. DirecTV will also have continued carriage at “market-based terms” of Disney’s entertainment, sports and news programming, including the ABC Owned Television Stations, the ESPN networks, the Disney-branded channels, Freeform, the FX networks and the National Geographic channels.
