CDC Reports COVID-19 Activity Is Increasing Across US

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday said COVID-19 activity is “increasing” across the United States although its levels are still considered “very low” overall. “As of August 26, 2026, we estimate that COVID-19 infections are growing or likely growing in 48 states, declining or likely declining in zero states, and not changing in two states,” the CDC said on Friday. Overall community viral activity levels, or a measurement of the virus in wastewater levels, for COVID-19 is considered by the CDC to be “very low.” Emergency department visits were also considered “very low,” which is the lowest ranking on the CDC’s website, with “very high” being the top. According to a Friday update on the CDC’s website, wastewater data show that COVID-19 activity is “very high” in Texas and “high” in Mississippi. “Moderate” levels were observed in California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Nevada, South Carolina, and West Virginia. All other states were listed as either “very low,” “low,” or there was limited or no data. As Jack Phillips reports for The Epoch Times, …

CDC: Little-Known Virus With No Vaccine Spreading In US

Authored by Zachary Stieber via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours), The human metapneumovirus (HMPV) is spreading in the United States, including in California and the Great Lakes region, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Symptoms include cough, fever, and nasal congestion, and, unlike better-known respiratory viruses, HMPV does not have a vaccine or known treatments, the CDC stated. “There’s no specific treatment that’s generally recommended,” Dr. Dean Blumberg, chief of pediatric infectious diseases at the University of California–Davis Children’s Hospital, said in a video released by the school. “For the youngest children, using a bulb syringe to clear the congestion can be useful. Sometimes a humidifier or vaporizer may be useful, especially if they have something like croup as a complication of infection and trying to make sure that they don’t get dehydrated and get enough fluids.” Hospitalized patients typically receive supportive care, or oxygen if they need it, and intravenous fluids to prevent or treat dehydration. Of nationwide tests that were positive for respiratory viruses in the week that ended on …

CDC Quietly Rewrites Its Vaccine-Autism Guidance

CDC Quietly Rewrites Its Vaccine-Autism Guidance

Authored by Maryanne Demasi via The Brownstone Institute, For the first time in a generation, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has rewritten its official position on whether vaccines can cause autism. This is a change that could reshape one of the most politically charged and emotionally fraught debates in modern medicine. In a website update published on 19 November 2025, the agency now states that the long-standing claim “vaccines do not cause autism” is “not an evidence-based claim” because scientific studies “have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism.” The page also acknowledges that “studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.” It’s difficult to overstate the significance of these statements. For nearly two decades, they would have been unthinkable for a federal public health agency. The timing is equally striking. The change arrives at a moment when the political and scientific landscape around vaccine safety is undergoing a marked shift inside the Trump–Kennedy administration. For months, critics have accused Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr and several …
