BTS and McDonald’s Collaborate for a Third Time With New Collectible Toys

BTS and McDonald’s Collaborate for a Third Time With New Collectible Toys

The dedicated fanbase of K-pop sensation BTS, Army, is all too familiar with this routine: arriving at the merch booth hours before the stadium gates open and waiting in line all day, in all types of weather, just for the hopes of snagging a city or member-specific jersey for the band’s Arirang world tour. Am I speaking from experience? Well, yes. Will I do it again and again? Duh. If you missed out on the tour merch of your dreams, there is another collectible opportunity incoming, and it doesn’t involve a merch booth: McDonald’s is bringing a limited-time lineup of BT21 characters to Happy Meals.  Starting July 14 at participating McDonald’s restaurants, you can find and collect 10 unique, space-themed BT21 toys. There is a toy for each of the seven members of the group, along with three others: Van (a character representing Army), a toy with all of the characters on a spaceship and a poster with stickers. Watch K-Pop Band BTS Perform Two New Singles at the Guggenheim

Countless bands and musical artists have celebrated new album releases on late-night television, but no one has done so with quite the art world flair as BTS, the mega-famous K-pop boy band fronted by art enthusiast and collector RM. (The other six members are Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook.) Fresh off a four-year hiatus, BTS’s new album Arirang came out on Mar. 20. The band was interviewed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night. Restaurants and shops decorated their storefronts purple, the color associated with its fandom. Coffee shops and cocktail bars emblazoned their drinks with the logo of the band’s new album. Fans cheered as a drone show displaying the seven band members’ faces lit up the sky over the Han River. Source link

Jungkook of BTS Is Chasing His Pop-Star Dream

Jungkook of BTS Is Chasing His Pop-Star Dream

When my video call with Jungkook begins, he has the look of someone roused too early from a good sleep. On camera, the youngest member of the South Korean pop group BTS is wearing a black zip-up, hood pulled over his head in a way that suggests he’d enjoy a nap—a little surprising, given his reputation among fans as an indefatigable “energizer bunny.” We’re less than two weeks away from the release of his first solo album, Golden, and his days are packed with dance practices, rehearsals, video shoots, interviews with overseas press. The exhausting demands of promotion aren’t new to him—he’s been with BTS for more than a decade, racking up best-selling albums, Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s, sold-out stadium concerts, and world records. But this is Jungkook’s first time releasing a full record on his own, and it happens to all be in English. At first, Jungkook felt conflicted about this. “I was thinking, Is it okay for a Korean to not release Korean songs at all?” the 26-year-old singer told me through …
