James Bond spin-offs, origin stories, reality shows? After Amazon takeover, what happens to 007? | Ents & Arts News

Speculation about the next James Bond was rife even before Daniel Craig confirmed once and for all that he was stepping down. Aaron Taylor-Johnson? Idris Elba? Henry Cavill? James Norton? A female 007? Three-and-a-half years on from No Time To Die, already delayed due to COVID and other problems, there has not been a scrap of confirmation. But now – plot twist – comes the announcement that Bond‘s long-time producers and custodians Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson are handing creative control to Amazon MGM Studios. James Bond Has No Love For “Algorithm-centric Amazon”

James Bond Has No Love For “Algorithm-centric Amazon”

It’s time for links and news that mystery fans should have on their radar! 007 Has No Love For “Algorithm-centric Amazon” Let’s start with the current world theme of billionaires being on everyone’s shitlist! Apparently, the reason we have yet to hear the news for an upcoming James Bond film is that, in 2022, Amazon bought Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, which included the Bond film rights, and Barbara Broccoli, the franchise producer, doesn’t want to work with Amazon. “She has told friends she doesn’t trust algorithm-centric Amazon with a character she helped to mythologize through big-screen storytelling and gut instinct.” Here for creatives standing their ground against non-creatives. But The Actual Setting Is A Major Point of The Series Unintentionally continuing the money vs creatives theme: Apple TV’s adaptation of Carl Hiaasen’s Bad Monkey got renewed for a second season which is actually great news, especially in the current landscape of everything getting cancelled before it can find an audience. The head-scratcher part, however, is that it will no longer film in Miami. The setting is actually …

The Last Dance Director Added Tom Hardy/James Bond Easter Egg

The Last Dance Director Added Tom Hardy/James Bond Easter Egg

Kelly Marcel and Tom Hardy are fitting dance partners for Eddie Brock and Venom’s final go-round in Venom: The Last Dance. The longtime screenwriter turned director has been friends with Hardy since the early 2000s, as they both worked across the street from one another in Southwest London. Marcel was employed at a video rental store, and after hitting it off one day, she soon started writing scenes for Hardy’s theater company that was run out of the first floor of Battersea’s The Latchmere pub. Eventually, Hardy brought Marcel in to do uncredited rewrites on Nicolas Winding Refn’s Bronson (2008), something she’d again do years later on George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).  In the intervening years, she launched her career by selling Terra Nova to Amblin and Fox. It would go on to become TV’s most expensive series at the time, and despite creating the concept, she declined a lucrative offer to actually run the show. Instead, she went on to write Saving Mr. Banks and Fifty Shades of Grey. In 2017, Hardy …

Memory Inflation Warps Bond Yields

Memory Inflation Warps Bond Yields

Authored by Michael Lebowitz via RealInvestmentAdvice.com, The Mayo Clinic defines Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, as “a mental health condition that’s caused by an extremely stressful or terrifying event — either being part of it or witnessing it.” Within the field of PTSD research is a concept called “memory inflation.” Memory inflation occurs when memories of traumatic events become more intense over time.    Memory inflation of past events amplifies one’s emotions and behaviors. As we will discuss, distress from recent price inflation is causing many investors to overly fear that a similar situation will reoccur. Given the tight relationship between inflation and bond yields, memory inflation negatively affects bond prices. Additionally, memory inflation may prevent some investors from seeing an opportunity to profit from the distorted market views. Apollo Management’s Chart Crime Amplifies Memory Inflation The following graph from Apollo Management has been circulating in social media for nearly a year. We believe it keeps yesterday’s high inflation fresh in people’s minds and stokes memory inflation, which warps investors’ current view of inflation. The graph …
