The Wanted star Max George recalls moment he wrote will from hospital bed before heart surgery | Ents & Arts News

The Wanted star Max George has told of the moment he wrote his will from a hospital bed, as he was convinced he “was going to die”. In December, George revealed he had to undergo urgent heart surgery after being diagnosed with a block. In an interview with The Sun, his first since he underwent the lifesaving surgery, the 36-year-old described the moment when he thought he would die. He said: “If I could go from being absolutely on top of the world to being told ‘the bottom part of your heart isn’t working’, I kept thinking in my head, ‘Well, what if the top half stops working overnight?’” “That first night I wrote a will, I thought I was going to die,” the 36-year-old musician added. On the night of 13 December, George said his heart rate and blood pressure dropped, “I felt like I was dying,” he said. He had a pacemaker fitted by doctors during the surgery, but the former Strictly Come Dancing star said he made a will on his phone …

Anywho, I’m Going to Go to Bed

Anywho, I’m Going to Go to Bed

Last week, influencer Haliey Welch, who rose to fame as the “Hawk Tuah” girl from a viral TikTok video earlier this year, launched an altcoin — which allegedly rugpulled countless fans. Welch and her team vehemently denied any wrongdoing with their HAWK token — despite the receipts being published on the token’s public blockchain for all to see. YouTuber and online scam hunter extraordinaire Stephen “Coffeezilla” Findeisen issued a takedown of Welch’s dubious scheme in a video last week, alleging that the scam was even worse than initially thought, with organizers absorbing millions of dollars in arbitrary fees on top of the money raised from dumping massively inflated tokens. Findeisen even attended a Spaces call hosted on X-formerly-Twitter last week to push for some much-needed answers. “This is one of the most miserable, horrible launches I’ve ever seen in my life,” he said during the call, accusing the team of brazenly exploiting “normies” who are not clued into the shady world of crypto scams. Meanwhile, Welch, who also attended the Spaces, appeared uninterested in the conversation, …

I tried a body scan meditation every night before bed for a week—here’s why I’d recommend it

I tried a body scan meditation every night before bed for a week—here’s why I’d recommend it

Like many others, I can find it difficult to get to sleep. Often my mind is busy running through the day’s events or worrying about tomorrow’s to-do list, and sleep feels frustratingly out of reach. So recently, I turned to meditation. There’s a growing body of research that indicates mindful practices can help improve sleep quality. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine, for example, found that participants who took part in a mindfulness awareness program for six weeks reported less insomnia and fatigue at the end, when compared with other participants who attended sleep education classes instead. Plus, a recent review of research done in this area also concluded that “mindfulness meditation may be effective in treating some aspects of sleep disturbance”. There’s a huge variety of meditation techniques, but the one that caught my eye is the body scan method. What is a body scan meditation? Essentially, body scan meditation involves focusing on each part of your body in turn, scanning it for feelings of tension and pain. “Meditation is when we focus …

Wife Says She Stays In Bed All Day To Avoid Being Mean To Her Good Guy Husband

Wife Says She Stays In Bed All Day To Avoid Being Mean To Her Good Guy Husband

Divorce is often framed as a failure of two people to repair a broken relationship, yet really, it’s a valid way to end a marriage that’s no longer working for any given reason.  Whether a divorce is rooted in infidelity, a growing lack of communication, or just distance between two people that became too wide to cross, no one should have to stay in a relationship where they feel unsafe or unfulfilled. A woman says she stays in bed all day to avoid being mean to her ‘good guy’ husband, whom she doesn’t know how to divorce. Casie Grier recorded herself speaking openly and vulnerably about a topic that’s often swept under the rug: What does it mean when you want to get divorced from someone who’s a good person? “Can we talk about how hard it is to leave the good guy?” Grier asked, tears in her eyes. Doja Cat Shops for Diamonds While Wearing Bed Sheet Look and Thong, Suffers Wardrobe Malfunction

Doja Cat seems to be taking the “Sleeping Beauties” theme of this week’s 2024 Met Gala very seriously.  The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Amala Raina Zandile Dlamini, shared photos and video of herself and fashion designer Guram Gvasalia shopping for jewelry ahead of the annual fashion event.  In one clip, Doja Cat is holding what appears to be a white bedsheet around her with black Christian Louboutin heels. She drops one part of the sheet, exposing a black G-string thong.  In one photo, Doja Cat hugs Gvasalia, showing off a diamond teardrop necklace hanging on her bare back.  It appears that the bedsheet look is actually a dress designed by the fashion label Vetements, as one of the photo features a tag from the brand attached to the white fabric.  Doja Cat even wore the look out on the rainy New York streets, sharing photos of herself and Gvasalia walking out of the store as assistants covered them with umbrellas.  On Sunday night, Doja Cat and Gvasalia were spotted attending Anna Wintour’s pre-Met …

Brooke Shields Reveals Her College-Aged Daughters Sleep in Bed With Her When Their Dad’s Out of Town

Brooke Shields‘ two daughters are young adults. But to her they will always be her babies. Case in point — she’s not ready to see them go out on their own. And whenever her husband goes out of town, it sure does present for a cozy opportunity with them. The 58-year-old actress appeared on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show with Julia Cunningham and shared the tidbit while discussing how challenging it’s been to see her daughters — Rowan, 20, and Grier, 18 — grow up so fast. Like Grier, who just turned 18. “Well, I mean, my young daughter just turned 18. You know, the minute my husband is on any type of work trip or gone or something, you know, they still sleep in the bed with me,” Shields revealed. “We still watch romcoms. They’re my babies, you know, and they will never not be.” Shields, who shares her daughters with husband Chris Henchy, realized that art really does imitate life. She compared the role in her upcoming romcom, Mother of the Bride, with what she’s dealing …

California climbers train for Mt. Everest from the comfort of bed

California climbers train for Mt. Everest from the comfort of bed

TRUCKEE, Calif. —  Graham Cooper sleeps with his head in a bag. Not just any bag. This one has a hose attached to a motor that slowly lowers the oxygen level to mimic, as faithfully as possible, the agonies of fitful sleep at extreme altitude: headaches, dry mouth, cerebral malaise. “It’s not all bad,” Cooper insisted, nodding to the humming motor. “That’s like white noise.” Cooper, 54, an Oakland biotech executive who has handled finance for a number of companies, including one that sold for $7 billion, isn’t a masochist, exactly. He’s acclimatizing, in the bedroom of his second home near Lake Tahoe, for an attempt to climb Mt. Everest in May. Graham Cooper uses a pulse oximeter to check his blood oxygen levels and pulse rate at his Truckee home. He has signed up with an Olympic Valley-based guide service whose founder, Adrian Ballinger, is breaking with decades of tradition to create what he believes are better and more ethical ways to climb the world’s tallest mountain. Ballinger said he was appalled by the risks, …

‘Parallel Scrolling’ In Bed With Your Partner Could Be Killing Your Relationship

‘Parallel Scrolling’ In Bed With Your Partner Could Be Killing Your Relationship

The bed is a sacred space. A place where you sleep, where the proverbial magic happens (we’re always thinking of you, “MTV Cribs”) and where you languidly bed rot for most of the weekend. It should not be a place where you and your partner ignore each other in favour of staring at your phones. If you’ve done this, experts say you’re “parallel scrolling.” Parallel scrolling is like “phubbing,” a term that got quite a bit of coverage from publications (including this one) a few years ago. Phubbing, a combination of the words phone and snubbing, is when someone is ignoring you and paying more attention to their mobile device. With parallel scrolling, you’re phubbing each other — and clearly, it’s not as sexy as it sounds. Phubbing and parallel scrolling are pernicious problems for many couples. In a 2017 Baylor University study of 143 people in romantic relationships, 70% of participants said that cell phones “sometimes,” “often,” “very often” or “all the time” interfered in their interactions with their partners. Tracy Ross, a couples …
