Joe Rogan asked Donald Trump for specifics on how 2020 was stolen. Then could only laugh at the answer

Joe Rogan could be seen laughing as he pressed former president Donald Trump for specifics on how the election was stolen in 2020. The Republican nominee sat down Friday for an interview with the No. 1 podcaster. The interview ran for three hours and delayed Trump’s appearance in Traverse City, Michigan, later in the day. At one point, Trump and Rogan started to discuss the 2020 election. “I won by like,” Trump said, “I lost by like…I didn’t lose.” Rogan could then be seen laughing. “They say I lost, Joe, they say I lost by 22,000 votes,” Trump continued. “That’s like one one-tenth of one percent, it’s less than that. It’s a tiny little thing. Twenty-two thousand votes that’s spread all over this period. “Fifty-one intelligent agents lied, they lied, they knew it was Hunter’s, it was from his bed. They said it was created by Russia. Russia, Russia, Russia. It was the Russia hoax.” Donald Trump sat down with Joe Rogan for a podcast interview. At one point, Rogan could only laugh as Trump …

‘You asked me questions I’ve never asked myself’: Keir Starmer’s most personal interview yet | Keir Starmer

What about a quick-fire round, I say to Keir Starmer, who is pushed for time on the campaign trail, a few snapshots to help glimpse the man likely to be PM? Starmer is nodding. He’s keen to be helpful, keen to be a sport, although a little unsure of this magazine profile business and the need to talk about feelings. We are in the green room, all mirrors and concrete, backstage at Labour’s Scottish launch in Inverclyde, and unless I’m mistaken he still has on a layer of foundation. Ready? He folds his arms across his chest. “Yes, by all means.” But then he can’t really say if he’s strictly an optimist or a pessimist and, no, doesn’t know if he’s an extrovert or an introvert, either. “I’ve never really thought about it. I don’t know what that tells you.” He doesn’t know what he dreamed last night – or ever: “I don’t dream.” Just hits the pillow at 11 and – “bang” – is out till around 5. He doesn’t have a favourite novel …

‘It can feel like a detective story’: birders asked to help find 126 ‘lost’ bird species | Birds

The coppery thorntail and New Caledonian lorikeet are among the 126 birds “lost” to science, having not been seen for a decade or more, according to the most comprehensive list of missing species composed to date. The new tally is based on millions of records collected by enthusiastic birders and amateur scientists documenting wildlife in some of the planet’s most remote locations. To be part of the dataset, the bird must not have a recorded sighting in at least a decade, and not be assessed as extinct or extinct in the wild by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. “Figuring out why these birds have become lost and then trying to find them can feel like a detective story,” said John C Mittermeier, the director of the Search for Lost Birds at American Bird Conservancy, which has created the dataset alongside BirdLife International and Re:wild. The authors hope that releasing the list will encourage people to come forward with new sightings of some of the lost birds and spur conservation efforts. “While some of …

Royal Mail bidders, paradise islands and Prague properties: questions asked over Daniel Křetínský’s business links | Royal Mail

On Prague’s exclusive Pařížská Street sits a nondescript brown door. Lodged between a designer clothing shop and a luxury luggage store, it is the gateway into a discreet sixth-floor office from where one of the Czech Republic’s richest people runs his empire. There is nothing overly ostentatious about the entrance, but inside, the office screams wealth: papers relating to the billionaire’s latest deals are mingled among numerous pieces of impressionist art, some of which is simply sitting on the floor. This is the world of Daniel Křetínský, the multibillionaire Czech tycoon bidding to buy the UK’s Royal Mail, who is perhaps best known for what he owns, rather than the work he does. His collection of recognisable assets include stakes in big supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s in the UK and France’s Casino; trophy media brands including France’s Elle magazine; and holdings in two top-flight European football clubs, West Ham United and Sparta Prague. There is the obligatory luxury property portfolio, too: a Paris mansion and a £65m house in London, once reportedly rented to the …

Jerry Seinfeld asked Chris Rock to parody Will Smith Oscars slap in ‘Unfrosted,’ but Rock was still ‘shook’

Jerry Seinfeld asked Chris Rock to parody Will Smith Oscars slap in ‘Unfrosted,’ but Rock was still ‘shook’

Jerry Seinfeld revealed during a recent interview on the “Fly on the Wall” podcast that he wanted Chris Rock to parody the infamous Oscars slap in his feature directorial debut “Unfrosted,” which recently premiered on Netflix. The issue was that Seinfeld filmed the comedy movie not long after the March 2022 Oscars, and Rock was allegedly feeling too “shook” to be able to perform in the movie. “The other thing I wanted to do that I almost did was Chris Rock was going to be the emcee of the Bowl & Spoon Awards — and we shot that right after the Will Smith slap,” Seinfeld explained. “I was going to have somebody come up on the stage and have Chris punch ’em out as they got there.” “Unfrosted” is loosely based on the true story of the creation of Pop-Tarts. Set in 1963, it tracks the rivalry between cereal companies Kellogg’s and Post as they compete to have the breakfast pastry hit the market first. Seinfeld stars in the movie opposite Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Max Greenfield, Hugh Grant …

Prince Harry’s four-word response when he’s asked ‘are you happy to be home’ | Royal | News

Prince Harry had his cheeky grin on full display this morning as he left an event in Central London this morning and headed for his car. The Duke of Sussex, who arrived in the UK on his own yesterday morning, waved to crowds and a waiting camera room who asked him: “Are you happy to be home?” Harry laughed and quickly replied “nice to see you” before hopping into the back of a black Range Rover. It comes after Prince Harry revealed that his father is too busy to meet him while he is back in the UK this week – even though the pair are now just a few miles apart. The Duke of Sussex confirmed that no meeting will take place due to the King’s “full programme”. “It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme,” they said. “The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.” MORE FOLLOWS… Source link

Prince Harry asked King Charles to meet ‘over a month before UK trip’ | Royal | News

King Charles could “easily” have found time to see Prince Harry during his visit to London as his son asked him for a meeting weeks ago, according to a source. Today, May 8, the Duke of Sussex will attend a special commemorative service at St Paul’s Cathedral to mark 10 years since the first Invictus Games. At the same time the King will be attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace, although initial reports suggested he would do his best to reunite with Harry as possible. However yesterday a spokesperson for the Duke stated: “It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme. The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.” Royal historian and friend of the Firm Hugo Vickers told Page Six: “If the King wanted to see Harry, he would find time very easily. You can never be too busy to see your son. A senior royal source told Page Six about their reunion: “We don’t …

Woman Breaks Up With Her Boyfriend After He Asked Her To Become A Tradwife

Woman Breaks Up With Her Boyfriend After He Asked Her To Become A Tradwife

After a couple agreed to focus on their relationship and individual careers before having kids, it came as a big surprise when the woman’s boyfriend revealed a sudden change of heart and suggested his girlfriend give up her career and become a tradwife. Some women would love the opportunity to be stay-at-home moms and embrace “traditional” roles. However, this woman isn’t one of them. She found it particularly insolent that her so-called partner didn’t even consider her opinion on the matter. The woman broke up with her boyfriend on the spot and wished him luck in finding his tradwife. She later took to Reddit’s r/AmIOverreacting forum to explain the context and ask if her reaction was too harsh. She stated that she and her boyfriend are both 26, college-educated, goal-oriented, and career-focused. They had been dating for three years and mutually agreed to wait until their 30s — when they would ideally be married and in a more stable position — to have their first child. All in all, this was a wise plan, considering …

Judge Asked to Question Jurors Who Awarded Million in New Hampshire Youth Center Abuse Case

Judge Asked to Question Jurors Who Awarded $38 Million in New Hampshire Youth Center Abuse Case

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Attorneys for a man who prevailed in a landmark lawsuit over abuse at New Hampshire’s youth detention center asked a judge Tuesday to reconvene and question jurors, some of whom have expressed dismay that the $38 million award could be slashed by nearly 99%. A jury on Friday awarded $38 million to David Meehan, who alleged that the state’s negligence allowed him to be repeatedly raped, beaten and held in solitary confinement as a teenager at the Youth Development Center. But the attorney general’s office is seeking to reduce the award under a state law that allows claimants against the state to recover a maximum of $475,000 per “incident.” Three distraught jurors have since contacted Meehan’s attorneys, including the jury foreperson, who described feeling “devastated” and “duped,” and another who said the state is misinterpreting the verdict. No hearing has been scheduled, but here are some things to know about how the dispute unfolded. Meehan, 42, went to police in 2017 and sued the state three years later. Since then, 11 …

P&O Ferries boss asked if he is ‘modern-day pirate’ for paying staff £4.87 an hour | P&O Ferries

P&O Ferries boss asked if he is ‘modern-day pirate’ for paying staff £4.87 an hour | P&O Ferries

The boss of P&O Ferries has been asked if he is “a pirate” who appears to be “robbing staff blind” – as he confirmed to MPs that the group’s seafarers had been receiving pay rates even lower than he had previously told parliament. Peter Hebblethwaite previously appeared in front of a joint transport and business committee in March 2022 to respond to P&O Ferries sacking 786 staff and replacing them with low-paid agency workers. At the time he told parliamentarians that the lowest-paid agency worker would receive £5.15 an hour – only for a Guardian and ITV News investigation this March to reveal how some P&O seafarers were receiving an hourly rate as low as £4.87. On Tuesday, in an appearance before the business and trade committee, which was prompted by the reports, the chair, Liam Byrne MP, opened by asking Hebblethwaite: “Are you basically a modern-day pirate? … You seem to be robbing your staff blind.” The ferry group’s chief executive said without the mass sackings “P&O would not be here today” – before …
