Owens traces his journey from a film-school student who stumbled onto Jones’s radio show to an insider who spent four years filming, editing, and traveling for the organization. Owens describes how Jones’s conspiracy machine works, as well as how his own moral compass was scrambled by Jones’s manipulative management. The conversation explores radicalization, the conspiratorial media ecosystem Jones helped create, and how Owens was able to pull himself out. The following is a transcript of the episode: Josh Owens: Jones was not sitting there telling us to lie about things. He was making us question our own minds. After years in that environment, you stop even believing the fire alarms that are going off in your brain saying, like, This is insane. This is crazy. This is wrong. And you think, Maybe …

The driver, identified only as “a 48-year-old man from Salzburg,” was undergoing CPR from first responders when officers arrived at approximately 8:20 a.m. “Police assisted with resuscitation efforts, including the use of a defibrillator,” the release said. “Despite further efforts by paramedics and an emergency physician, resuscitation was unsuccessful. Big Nobody by Alex Kadis review – groovy and Greek in 70s London

Big Nobody by Alex Kadis review – groovy and Greek in 70s London

Alex Kadis establishes a jaunty tone from the very first pages of her debut about Connie Costa, a music-loving teenager stuck at home in east London in the mid-1970s, longing to break free from her smothering Greek Cypriot extended family, and in particular her restrictive father. Dubbing him “the fat murderer”, she has dreamed endlessly about killing him ever since the car accident a year before that took the lives of her mother and younger brothers. Lively, opinionated, and slightly chubby in her groovy 70s gear, Connie has two imaginary friends in the form of Marc Bolan and “bloody David Bowie”, with whom she communes via the posters on her bedroom wall. Marc she adores, but Bowie can be a bit snide, as well as having dubious taste in fashion. She’s starting to develop a keen interest in the male trouser region (Marc’s is placed at eye level). In the case of her father’s friend, Peter Pervy Roy, who wears “trousers so eye-wateringly tight that they squashed his knob and bollocks into a weird flat patty”, actual proximity can …

Alex Ross Drawing, Writing New Graphic Novel ‘Marvel Dimensions’

Comic book painter Alex Ross burst out onto the comics scene in the mid-1990s when he produced a one-two punch of electrifying and celebrated works, Marvels for Marvel Comics and Kingdom Come for DC Comics. For a good chunk of this century, however, he has become known mostly for his lush and colorfully vivid covers for Marvel. Readers were treated to the full Ross experience when he returned to writing and drawing interiors for his widely-praised 2022 graphic novel Fantastic Four: Full Circle. And while that was the first Ross book in years, fans don’t have to wait as long for his next opus, one that could be as ambitious and impactful as his classic works. Ross has written and illustrated Marvel Dimensions, an all-new 112-page graphic novel that Abrams ComicArts, in partnership with Marvel Comics, will release in September. Much of the story is being kept under wraps, but it’s meant to be both a tour of the classic Marvel Universe and something much more expansive. It’s said to be a work that experiments …

Alex Honnold says he was paid an ‘embarrassing amount’ for Taipei 101 climb

Alex Honnold says he would have climbed Taipei 101 — the world’s 11th-tallest skyscraper — for free. But because the free-solo ascent was performed live for a global audience, the climber has admitted his fee is an “embarrassing amount” of money. Netflix’s Skyscraper Live saw the professional rock climber make history as he scaled the 1,667-foot, 101-story structure, located in the capital of Taiwan, without safety gear or ropes. Speaking to ahead of the climb, Honnold was asked whether the stunt marks the biggest payday of his career. “Maybe. It’s less than my agent aspired to,” he said. “I mean, I would do it for free. If there was no TV program and the building gave me permission to go do the thing, I would do the thing because I know I can, and it’d be amazing. I mean, just sitting by yourself on the very top of the spire is insane.” Honnold continued: “And so, you know, if there wasn’t the whole spectacle around it, and I just had the opportunity to go do …

Skyscraper Live viewers savage Netflix’s ‘awful’ commentary during Alex Honnold’s record-breaking free climb

Skyscraper Live viewers savage Netflix’s ‘awful’ commentary during Alex Honnold’s record-breaking free climb

Netflix viewers have eviscerated the “distracting” and “pointless” commentary delivered during the live stream of Alex Honnold’s record-breaking free climb of Taipei 101, one of the tallest skyscrapers on Earth. While nervous Skyscraper Live viewers watched the nail-biting stunt on Saturday night (January 24), they admitted to being distracted by the punditry delivered by its panel, made up of WWE star Seth Rollins, veteran sports anchor Elle Duncan and professional rock climber and mountaineer Emily Harrington. Much of the commentary featured live reactions from Rollins, who spent the majority of the stream — like viewers at home — in disbelief and shock at Honnold’s risk-taking ascent of the 1,667-foot-high tower. But viewers said the commentators continuously talked over Honnold when he was speaking into his in-ear headset during the climb, and added little professional insight. The comments section under Netflix’s Instagram posts during the event was filled with pleas from viewers to “have the announcers be quiet” and “stop talking” as they couldn’t hear Honnold. open image in gallery Seth Rollins, Elle Duncan and Emily …
