Iran taunts Trump by performing mock execution of President in chillin | World | News

Actors in Iran performed a mock execution of US President Donald Trump in chilling scenes from the centre of Tehran. The video, which could not be independently verified by the Daily Express, shows Donald Trump dressed as a prisoner behind bars about to be hanged. The mock execution was observed by cheering Iranians on Tajrish Square in Tehran. The performance involving real actors is part of a billboard installation in the capital’s busy square. A similar installation depicting Trump behind bars also amused passers-by in the square on October 21. Iran this week also unveiled a huge billboard and banners over Enqelab Square in central Tehran. The poster depicts the US president behind bars with his head bowed. In English, the billboard pledges: “We will kill Trump”.

The state-organised spectacle took place just after Trump’s historic defeat at the US midterm elections. Ali Nikzad, the first deputy speaker of the parliament, said: “These electoral defeats are the aftershocks of Trump’s defeat by the Iranian people.”

Following the elections, Trump acknowledged that the US–Israel war on Iran and the resulting rise in gas prices and inflation largely caused major Republican losses in the November 2026 midterm elections, which handed control of Congress to the Democrats.

Despite that, he said the war has been worth it.
