The Game, the “thrilling” 4-part drama starring Jason Watkins and Robson Green, is one to binge-watch tonight. The British crime thriller sees Watkins star as a retired detective named Huw Miller.
Haunted by an unsolved case from his past involving a serial killer known as the Ripton Stalker, Huw becomes convinced that his new neighbour, Patrick Harbottle (Green), is the man behind the crimes.
The synopsis reads: “As Huw attempts to settle into retirement, the case is never far from his mind – and when new neighbour Patrick Harbottle (Green) moves in and utters the chilling phrase ‘catch you later’ – the sign-off the stalker used to taunt Huw during the investigation – Huw is determined he’s finally got his man.

“What follows is a high-stakes game of psychological chess between the two neighbours as Huw’s world begins to crumble around him.
“Unable to bear the guilt of the stalker taking another victim under his nose, Huw risks everything to unearth the truth. But has he set his sights on the right man, or is his obsession pushing him ever closer to the brink?”
The show premiered on Channel 5 in May 2025 and, for those of you who haven’t seen it, is still available to stream in its entirety on the channel.
Directed by Toby Frow and scripted by Tom Grieves, who wrote Being Human, The Game also stars Sunetra Sarker from Casualty.
