The M4 was closed in both directions near Porthcawl in Wales earlier today due to a police incident. Officers were at the scene at Junction 35 where a stretch of the road was closed. Motorists were asked to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix said initially: “M4 in both directions closed long delays, stationary traffic due to a police incident from J35 A473 (Pencoed) to J37 A4229 (Pyle / Porthcawl).” The route has since reopened.
