In the Hamas-Israel conflict, there is a simple question that separates the antisemites who have plagued the world for the past 70 years from those genuinely concerned about the plight of the Palestinians.

It is this: Does the nation of Israel have the right to exist?

Hamas does not believe so. In its original Charter, the terrorist organization called for the obliteration of Israel and even quoted Imam Hassan al-Banna in its introductory remarks:

Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.” (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).

How is it possible for Israel to negotiate with a group that is ultimately dedicated to its destruction?

When you hear pro-Hamas supporters chanting ‘from the river to the sea Palestine will be free’ as they have done in London, Rome, New York City and university campuses around the world, it is essentially a call for the end of the nation of Israel.

The area that they are talking about includes everything between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. It would involve the forcible ejection of the Jews from the area that has been their traditional homeland for thousands of years.

It is such a disgusting statement that many in the left-wing media are desperately trying to reinterpret that chant in an effort to tone down its true meaning.

The state of Israel was formed by the UN in 1948 in response to the Nazis slaughtering six million Jews in concentration camps, simply because they were Jews.

When the Nazis began rounding them up, the Jews had nowhere to flee.

Perhaps the most tragic account involved the MS St Louis that in 1939 had 907 Jewish refugees on board fleeing the Nazis in Europe. They sought refuge in Cuba and were turned away, even though they had visas.

They then sought refuge in the US and Canada and again both governments would not allow the ship to land. The MS St. Louis was finally forced to return to Europe where it is estimated over 250 of the Jews on board eventually died in Nazi’s gas chambers.

While many blame the nation of Israel for the current anti-Jewish hate, the Nazis hated the Jews long before the Israeli nation had been formed.

Unfortunately, the formation of the state of Israel also resulted in Palestinians being displaced and understandably this has caused anger and conflict.

The two-state solution often cited in the media refers to the creation of two separate states, Palestine and Israel, with both groups acknowledging the other’s right to exist.

Unfortunately, Hamas which controls the Gaza Strip fundamentally opposes a two-state solution as it wants Israel gone and has resisted the formation of a Palestinian state because this would ultimately legitimize Israel.

And it is exactly this problem that the Daily Wire‘s former editor, Ben Shapiro, exposed at a debate at the University of Oxford in Britain.

Shapiro, an orthodox Jew, confronted several students whose pro-Palestinian views included the elimination of Israel.

The Daily Wire provides details:

The first student called for the destruction of Israel at the end of her questioning of Shapiro when the Daily Wire host asked her what part of Israel she considered “occupied,” or illegitimate.

“All of Israel,” she responded.

“There we go. So, what you’re calling for is the obliteration of the state of Israel, and all of this is just a cover for that. I appreciate your time,” Shapiro responded.

The Promised Restoration of Israel

Throughout the Bible, there are numerous passages that speak of God promising to restore the Jews back to the Promised Land thousands of years ago:

“Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and bring them back to their pasture, and they will be fruitful and multiply. I will also raise up shepherds over them and they will tend them; and they will not be afraid any longer, nor be terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the Lord. “Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch;
And He will reign as king and act wisely
And do justice and righteousness in the land.
(Jeremiah 23:3-8)

Other prophets such as Ezekiel (Ezekiel 37:1-25), Amos (Amos 9:14-15), Hosea (Hosea 3:4-5), Micah (Micah 2:12) and Zechariah (Zechariah 8:7-8) envisioned the day that Jews would be restored to the Promised Land.

The restoration of Israel as a nation has been understood to be a key marker of end times events leading to Christ’s second coming for hundreds of years.

Even famed scientist and mathematician, Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1726), acknowledged that Jesus’ second coming would not occur until Israel had been restored as a nation.

In his commentary on the Book of Revelation, Newton wrote:

The ruin of the wicked nations, the end of weeping and of all troubles, the return of the Jews (from) captivity and their setting up of a flourishing and everlasting kingdom.”
