No Popcorn Throwing at Minecraft Movie

No Popcorn Throwing at Minecraft Movie

Keep your popcorn to yourself. That was Jack Black‘s instruction to moviegoers attending a screening of A Minecraft Movie over the April 11-13 weekend at AMC Century City in L.A. following days of headlines about young moviegoers engaging in rowdy behavior and hurling handfuls of popcorn into the crowd when Black’s character exclaims, “chicken jockey!” As Black entered the auditorium unannounced, he initially disguised his voice when he intoning: “For today’s presentation of A Minecraft Movie, please no throwing popcorn.” When he began speaking in his own voice and was recognized, the crowd went nuts as he waved his main prop from the movie, an axe. “Look what I brought,” he said, eliciting hoots and hollers. Throughout the movie’s opening weekend a week earlier, viral videos captured audiences going wild, throwing food and drinks, and trashing auditoriums. In one video, somebody was even kicked out for holding up a live chicken. Some theaters are issuing warnings, with Cinema United — a trade organization representing thousands of exhibitors across the globe — issuing a memo of …

Joe Burrow Is Throwing Again as the Bengals’ Franchise QB Rehabs His Surgically Repaired Wrist

CINCINNATI (AP) — Joe Burrow threw some crisp passes in a team workout Tuesday and said rehabbing his surgically repaired right wrist is still a work in progress. The Bengals quarterback was cleared to throw about a month ago, but hasn’t been cleared for contact yet. He hopes to be fully ready to go by training camp. “I felt good the last couple of days,” the 27-year-old Burrow said. “I don’t ever know how it’s going to feel until I wake up the next morning, but I was encouraged by the last couple of days for sure.” Backup Jake Browning led Cincinnati to a 4-3 record the rest of the way and the team missed the playoffs for the first time in three seasons. The Bengals finished 9-8, last in the AFC North. Burrow said uncertainty has been the most difficult part of rehab. WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Polish police have arrested a 16-year-old male on suspicion of attacking a synagogue with Molotov cocktails and said they plan to ask prosecutors on Thursday to open an investigation. The Nożyk Synagogue was attacked around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, sustaining some damage to its facade. Nobody was in the prayer hall at that time and there were no injuries. Elon Musk is throwing his weight around Tesla, comes in like a wrecking ball

We are getting more information on the ongoing layoffs at Tesla. Several employees describe the situation as Elon Musk “throwing his weight around” to solidify his status after being mostly absent over the last year. But he is coming in like a dangerous wrecking ball. Sources familiar with the matter told Electrek that Musk was not as frequently present at Tesla as he used to be over the last year and since his acquisition of Twitter. That has changed over the last few weeks. Musk is now all over Tesla or at least, his presence is being felt everywhere at Tesla. It started with the first wave of layoffs two weeks ago. Musk announced that Tesla would be laying off about 10% of its workforce and used his usual excuse of growing the headcount too fast, resulting in hiring inefficiencies with duplicate jobs. However, when we first heard about those plans a day prior, we heard that the layoffs could be closer to 20% of the workforce. Sure enough, the layoffs are still ongoing. Tesla …

Man arrested, accused of throwing pipe bomb at Satanic Temple in Massachusetts

BOSTON — An Oklahoma man was arrested Wednesday after authorities accused him of throwing a pipe bomb at the Massachusetts headquarters of a group called The Satanic Temple. The Salem-based group says on its website that it campaigns for secularism and individual liberties, and that its members don’t actually worship Satan. Sean Patrick Palmer, 49, of Perkins, Oklahoma, has been charged with using an explosive to damage a building following an attack last week on the headquarters, which is also used as an art gallery. Several phone numbers associated with Palmer were out of service Wednesday, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts said they didn’t yet have the name of any lawyer representing him. He is due to make an initial court appearance in Oklahoma on Thursday. If found guilty, he could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Surveillance cameras showed a man walk up to the building soon after 4 a.m. on April 8 wearing a face covering, tactical vest and gloves, according to the U.S. Attorney’s …
