‘Space Mountain’ Movie Lands ‘Cowboy Beebop’ Showrunners (Exclusive)

Action scribes Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec are going to Disneyland. The prolific team behind Amazon’s high-profile spy series Citadel and showrunners on Netflix’s adaptation of Cowboy Bebop have been tapped to write Disney’s live-action adaptation of Space Mountain. Jonathan Eirich from Rideback, the banner that is behind Netflix’s hit live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series, is producing the feature, which has been in development for several years, along with Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell of Safehouse Pictures. Harold was the project’s previous writer. Rideback’s Ryan Halprin is exec producing. Space Mountain is the venerable space-themed indoor roller coaster that was first introduced in Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort in 1975, followed by an installation in California’s Disneyland in 1977. It became a fixture in the Tomorrowland section as other parks opened up and is now in five of the six parks around the world.  The ride has no overarching theme nor memorable characters seen in such rides as Pirates of the Caribbean. ‘Game of Thrones’ Showrunners Reveal Their Favorite Deaths of the Show

[The following story includes spoilers for Game of Thrones seasons four and six.] Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are opening up about their favorite deaths on the hit HBO series. During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast while promoting their new Netflix series, 3 Body Problem, the writers were asked if they had a favorite character death they had written over the course of their careers. “With Thrones, there was so much killing of good guys,” Weiss said, “and we finally got to really kill both Joffrey in season four and Ramsay Bolton in season six. The Rings of Power Showrunners Ink Deal, Begin Early Work on Season 3

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power showrunners have struck a new overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios, a potentially bullish sign for the future of the fantasy series. Patrick McKay and JD Payne have signed a three-year deal which also launches their own production company, 10:40 PM Productions. The duo wrote and executive produced season one of the Emmy-nominated Prime Video series The Rings of Power, which debuted in the fall of 2022. The show stands as Amazon’s most-watched original series and ranked in Nielsen’s streaming chart Top 4 every week during its initial run. The show’s second season has wrapped filming and will be released later this year. While a third season hasn’t officially been ordered and a writers room has not yet opened, the showrunners have started to break the initial story outline.
