Not long ago I stum­bled upon this pret­ty won­der­ful video of David Bowie play­ing an acoustic ver­sion of “Heroes,” one of my favorite songs, and I thought I’d quick­ly share it today. Why wait? Appear­ing at Neil Young’s annu­al Bridge School Ben­e­fit con­cert in Octo­ber 1996, Bowie gives us a stripped-down ver­sion of the mov­ing song he co-wrote with Bri­an Eno in 1977. Flanked by Reeves Gabrels on gui­tar and Gail Ann Dorsey on bass, Bowie strums his acoustic gui­tar. All the while, he taps his foot, let­ting a bot­tle cap, taped to his shoe, assist in cre­at­ing a per­cus­sive beat. It’s all kept ele­gant­ly sim­ple. Hope you enjoy. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Hoka addict, having tested several pairs for Fit&Well’s guide to the best walking shoes. The Hoka Transport was the first I tested and is my favorite slip-on shoe. It’s designed for hiking and running and is stylish enough to pair with your favorite outfit. I also tested the Hoka Clifton 9 this year, which I rate as the best shoe for walking on concrete. It’s a great option if you work on your feet all day, thanks to its lightweight cushioning. My favorite Hoka of all time is the Hoka Bondi 8, which sat at the top of my walking shoe guide for a long time (it was replaced in November by my new favorite: the Brooks Glycerin Max, but it was a close run thing). My colleague, a keen runner, also tested the Hoka Mach 6 earlier this year and gave it a glowing review. He recommends it as an everyday running shoe, great for easy runs and longer sessions. Not only am I runner, I spend a lot of time writing about shoes and other athletic gear, but I have a secret. My wide feet rarely fit the most popular shoes. I have been wearing Altra running shoes for six years and they have been my go-to brand because you can rely on an Altra shoe to have a wide toebox. Altra has great options for both trail and road running, but I haven’t found them to be the most stylish and really wanted to fit comfortably into one of the pairs my running friends were talking about. Then, I got lucky. Last fall I was asked to help with product testing and when I saw the Brooks Ghost 15 on the list I quickly put my name next to it in the spreadsheet to claim it. I figured since I wouldn’t be spending my own money on it it would be worth trying even if it didn’t end up being a good fit. But they fit perfectly and they became my favorite. I …

The British Royal family is complete with a plethora of stylish sister duos. The spring cleaning period is here, and the change of seasons is the perfect time to give your wardrobe a clear-out. LONDON (AP) — Adidas said Wednesday that it’s donated or is planning to give away more than $150 million to groups fighting antisemitism and other forms of hate from the sales of Yeezy shoes last year after it severed ties with Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West. The German sportswear brand had 1.2 billion euros ($1.3 billion) worth of popular Yeezy sneakers piled up in warehouses after it broke off its partnership with Ye in October 2022 over his antisemitic and other offensive comments on social media and in interviews. Adidas decided to sell some of the remaining shoes in batches, with two releases last year and another that launched late last month, and donate a portion of the proceeds to anti-hate groups.
